New Law is more like: Peaceful and united in this reality, but oblivious to the chaos outside the bounds of their reality and YWVH's ineveitable retribution. New Neutral is accepting the fact the Schwarzwelt is here to stay and MC chooses to become a god like being like his compatriots, but refusing to give in to either Law or Chaos

Thats why chaos and law endings are seen as bad endings the senseless chaos of the demons and the arbitrary law of God only delivers more sufferings to the humans. My favorite ending of all SMT games that I have played is the nihilistic one in SMT IV because it demonstrates that the forces of law and chaos are just evil and the impossibility of humanity of just enduring the eternal cycle over and over again.

That is why I am saying it is hypocritical. It also is a world that ignores potential, as Jimenez continuing to be a good example here now has the potential to survive and thrive in a world of chaos; after being given chances to keep going and grow from his failures. Those chances were not from a chaotic world and they were not from his parents; they were from others who chose to save him in a world where nurturing strength and saving others matters. There are very few Chaos endings that are not hypocritical in this way, and it has always been something sour to me when people who would have died if nobody chose to intervene repeatedly so they may grow just decide "Now I'm going to turn the world into one I can be powerful in but not give people chances like I was given and just let them be killed". Like, Chaos is a decision that being raised in a Chaos world; none of the side characters advocating for it would have survived to advocate; which is why it needs "God is tyrannical and heartless, this is a JRPG so hating a forced to be perfect world where you are basically a worship puppet or you die is something that should be pretty easy to get people to do" to make it an option; you need Tyranny for Anarchy to ever be an option that isn't stupid.

Just finished it earlier, and yeah New Neutral was the best. As Gore stated, taking humanity's side which is the weakest would be a very hard road, but it offers a chance while taking the Chaos or Law would just close off any chance for humanity to survive. Chances may look bleak because Schwarzwelt has been reappearing for 150 years, but the chances to kill a god and a demon that killed god would be astronomically low but it's still a "Chance". As a normal square faced marine(and the player) utilizing his demonica, items and his demons, we kept on struggling and achieved a future for humanity under astronomically low chances of success. Nevertheless, an AI that knows how low that probability is, still believed in us and humanity, Gore believed in us, Gore believed in humanity, and so are we.

I think that the reason of the neutral ending still not being enought it's that it doesn't make that humans restore the nature instantly, so its like making a bounce of a ball, they use a little of energy to restore the nature, but that adds even more weight to the balance, so they don't clean fast enought because they don't learn, Its because of the land of ruin comming back every 20 years, like, It happened like 7 times in 150 years, of course humans cant fix the planet that fast if demons just say Bonjour every 20 yearss to fuck everything up again. They should need at least 500 years to even do it if demons dont burn the forests every time they come back to say hi. Yet, It's still the best ending. At least they have a chance to say bye-bye to The Land of Ruin

130 hours for one playthrough? how many hours did you idle? You can get all the endings in one playthrough if you wanted. You have to be neutral, low law or chaos and make an extra save before Gore. Answer his question and it locks you in that route, and save it to another file. The only thing you have to keep doing are those 3 eggs, Mem Aleph dungeon crawling etc.

I agree. Took me a while but I finally know the correct ending. New chaos. In both the Law endings (my other two options), I commit extinction level genocide against demons. In the New Chaos, the remaining angels leave, but that's not the same as commiting extinction level genocide against them. This is the only ending in which you don't extinguish a species, not to mention you create a badass world. I see this as a win/win.

The Schwartzweldt was the result of human greed and violence. In the neutral ending, you return everything back to normal, so the Schwarzweldt appears again and again.

Yeah. I was really disappointed in that, too, because I think she was amazing in the neutral+ ending. I practically fucking cried. I kept my remote save after Mem Aleph but before Alex just to be able to watch it again and again.

For some reason, the person uploading this video here cut the conversation with her out. I recommend watching the video from BAI GAMING to see the full New Neutral ending. Her scene on that route was very emotional, it's a shame it's missing in this video.

Old Law, New Law, Old Chaos, New Chaos, Old Neutral, New Neutral.

The old law ending neutralized all of our evolutionary processes. It neutralizes all of humanity's actual humanity, were you not paying attention? humanity is effectively erased, leaving only a lifeless, unblinking world that benefits only the entities of law. the whole point of the new law ending is to demonstrate how hypocritical and inhuman the old law ending is. when you halt all change without exception, you halt evolution, and you condemn the outliers to a life without salvation.

These are the problems I found with each: New Law: Humanity's instinct of survival is gone. That's from where our "hostility", as they call it, comes. If anything, literally anything, attacks that realm, humanity won't have the instinct, means or desire to protect themselves. And the funny thing? There are TWO sides that ARE going to start a fight. God isn't going to let Zelenin defy him, "we are his humanity and we are going to do as he says", paraphrasing a bit what he is thinking. And if God is going to involve himself, you can be sure Louis Cypher... I mean Louisa Ferre... Ok, I mean Lucifer... is going to involve himself. That's the usual problem humanity has in the SMT games, finding ourselves in the mid of those two's pissing contest. No, Luci isn't our friend or protector. We are just another weapon in his war. That's probably why she isn't specially bothered with Zelenin's and the protagonist choice. She sounds almost smug, if you ask me. Old Law: There is no harmony in a hymn of a single note. What Zelenin calls harmony is just not having any diversity. No creative mind, no different opinions that give a chance for something new to happen. Just the same single note, for all eternity. Humanity's evolution, at this point, is the development of our civilization and our technoloty. Funfact, the homo sapiens survived the neanderthalensis because our survival instint and need for hunting make us think harder than them (it is very likely that they were just as inteligent as us, but they didn't need to develop their technology as much, because they were strong enough to hunt big preys with much less advanced tools than us). Also, Luci is going to make himself known at one point, because he is not going to stop until he wins. New Chaos: We've regresed to the prehistoric humanity. No civilization, dependance on these "Gods", and the strong still dominate the weak, just not to the extreme degree than old chaos. And you can be sure God is going to make himself known at one point, so either we find ourselves, again, in the mid of that war... or we become another tool of Luci in said war. And now we had been deprived of our strongest tools, a big civilization and incredibly advanced technology. We aren't the prime predators any longer in this world. Given, the new law and chaos endings are better than the old ones, in the new ones we have a chance. But... not much of a big one, if you ask me, just about the same as the old neutral. The new neutral is humanity repeating the same errors time and time again, and the MC going doom slayer each time the Schwarzwelt appears. I'd like to see how much time it passes between each ocurrence, to see if we are getting better, worse, or stangnant. But at least there we have a protector to let us make those mistakes. At least for so long as he is willing, of course. Still bleak as all hell, though.

​@@lenlimbo I'll take my chances with New Chaos. I always view these endings as beginnings. The status quo presented in them won't last forever, that's just not how the world works. Order will have to return, sure, but let us see what this new order will bring. Strength comes in many forms after all.

As bleak as it is, and as likely it is that humanity is making the same mistakes time and time again, at least we are still the masters of our own fate, unlike chaos and law. And I'm an optimist, so I like to think that the Schwazwelt is taking longer each time to re-appear.

New chaos is basically humanity going back to prehistoric era. They will form tribes and fight for survival. Meanwhile new law is Star Trek like futuristic utopia until some alien invasion.

I like that they worked it out so we still get the horrible demon-human gore statues, just not the knee-high sea of murder blood

I loved the new neutral ending, but new chaos seems like maybe it was a touch better.

New Law suggests a world filled with peace and happiness, but without a will to fight in humans, which may lead to destruction. So essentially both endings may have the same result, New Law is just better for humans, and New Chaos for demons

@@vorpal22 You're talking about Old Law. In the Old Law ending people are mindlessly following the God, while in New Law Zelenin specifically tells the protagonist, that this world is free of God's restricting rules.

I thought the New Law ending was a pretty justified choice, they sacrifice a bit of personal freedom in order to bring world peace. Ultimately, I'd go with New Neutral as well, but that's because I'm a human and I'm biased. Humans are supposed to be aligned "neutral", so it makes sense we would see it as the best because it is structured around a balance of our values (freedom and peace)

yeah letting humanity perpetually stay in its shitty state while only clearing out the surface level consequences until the earth is actually completely destroyed sounds great!

Giving up the instinct and desire to fight may make things easier between humanity itself, but anything outside of it becomes a threat. A sense of self - which is where that fighting instinct really comes from - is necessary to subsist within the universe.

At the end he can predict future and have a lot of information about demons and the world, I mean, even in game all your allies depend on Arthur's guide, every time he goes off everyone gets scared.

Seems more like the prequel. At least the chaos ending does. Humanity and demons live together on earth while Zelenin manages to use an underpowered song to bring humans that were affected to a new world. Their suits that they invented was worn by the black samurai in smt4 and multiple other suits were found as well. The existence the suits show that strange journey came before smt4 as it was mentioned in the beginning that they were prototypes that hadnt been tested yet. The gauntlet that your character wears in smt4 is most likely a newer model that was upgraded to use less materials but was stolen by residents when they came up. They call Japanese the sacred script.

@@jonathanbeaudry3351 The Black Demonicas were Japanese models of the Demonicas from SJ and they were used by the Counter demon Force (or at least that's just my take on it, given there's a mention of "Country A" that has implied different model Demonicas in the CDF logs). Although there is concept art of Skins from IV wearing an SJ model one, probably to show off the fact that he was one of the members of the defunct CDF at most.
