*Jasin Todd (guitarist) is married to Melody Van Zant. Melody is the daughter of Ronnie Van Zant (singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd). The little girl in the video is Jasin and Melody's daughter. Shinedown is awesome!!! Brent Smith could & can sing anything. He also has a KZfaq channel called Smith & Myers where he and is guitarist do a bunch of different cover songs...really good ones!!!

in my opinion, 45 is one of their greatest songs, its known worldwide, sung at karaoke's worldwide as well, the way 45 is performed, is breath taking in its own way, i honestly don't think anyone will ever be able to do a cover of 45

It’s not that good. The original cover of them wasn’t edited like this. One issue I heard is there were gaps of no vocals which this version removed.

I saw Shinedown supporting Alter Bridge in Vienna a few years ago. It's very rare that an opening act is as good as the band that follows. A band that is also fantastic live. Brent Smith has an incredibly powerful voice. If you like his voice, you should also listen to the Brent Smith Acoustic Project Smith&Myers.

My dad passed away 7 years ago when I was 18 and the funeral was a celebration of his life everyone had laughs and great memories i couldn't think of words to say and I chose to play this song and everyone cried its such a powerful and meaningful song the best cover if ever heard

Travis & Suzi As you know that Lynyrd Skynyrd is from Jacksonville, Florida. Shinedown also has roots in Jacksonville. I read that Shinedown covered this song at a local bar owned by the widow of original lead singer, Ronnie van Zandt.

@@patrickbateman7369 Nope. I'm 51. I said 2 of the best, not THE best. That's hard to quantify. For that, you'd be slipping into the Paul Rodgers, Robert Plant, etc. territory. Was never a fan of those bands' music, but, you're absolutely right...those guys are excellent as well.

@@JD-bc2rx I have to agree. The original has never left my playlist. It has always been a favorite on mine but especially after I had a son. He has not had an easy road dealing with ADD and Depression for all of his 17 years. This version does just what the original did for me before it rang so true to my heart. This is them not trying to best the original but paying the utmost respect for forever banger that it is! ✌️ I respect how you feel about this classic David Bracher 100%.

@@stefaniebrauer128 agreed, my oldest was diagnosed with speech apraxia when he was 4. Didn't start really talking until late 5/6. He is smart as a whip, but he is my simple man. He doesn't let anything effect him. 15 now, and he's a straight A student. He loves this song as well.

They have alot of hard rock songs I love how different each album is and how different all their songs are shows off their talent. His voice can sing anything. I met them multiple times great guys. Only since 2013.
