This is the Japanese version of Everybody as they were in Tokyo here. The Korean version came out first though.

In "Everybody" SHINee are supposed to be toy soldiers and they get their energy and power from the fans. So all the moves and everything you see, including the way they are dressed, is supposed to remind you of how a toy soldier would look and move. Their fans power them up and that's why in the beginning they start by laying on the floor, because the fans' energy is what wakes them up and in the end (in the MV) they run out of energy and they disengage and fall back down to the floor to wait for the fans to come and power them back up again. In the middle of the performance, where they come together and create that picture in their dance, they are supposed to look like an airplane, that's why Onew spins his arms round really fast like the propeller of a plane. The plane has to do with the fact that they are soldiers and they are depicting a scene from a battle during the Korean War. As you see, although Jonghyun is the main vocalist of SHINee and he is most often in charge of the high notes, in "Everybody" Jonghyun, Onew, Taemin and Key all have high notes at different moments in the song. That is what makes SHINee such an amazing group. Because you watched the Tokyo Dome concert version of "Everybody" this was the Japanese version of the song. (In the MV you will be able to hear the Korean version.) SHINee are just as popular as Japanese artists as they are Kpop stars and they are all fluent in Japanese. They have just as many Japanese albums and songs as they do Korean songs. So when they hold concerts in Japan the concert is almost entirely in Japanese and they don't even need translators when they interact with the audience. If you like the choreography, you really need to see their dance practice. If you watch the dance practice, make sure to turn the CC subs on so you can understand what they are talking about in the introduction, because they explain the song and dance in more detail. You also should really check out their performance of "Everybody" from their SWC4 in Seoul. The video quality and sound is so much better in that performance and you can see everything so much better. Unfortunately, because of the low lighting and smoke at this concert, I think you missed out on a lot of their iconic performance. Everytime SHINee performs the performance is a little different. They always make each performance special, so you never get bored no matter how many times you have heard a song or have seen them perform. :D Fun fact: As the fashionista of the group Key often collaborates with their stylists and comes up with their outfits for their concerts and MVs. Their outfits in this performance were designed by Key -- the member with the red hair. As you heard, SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are referred to as CD-quality singers for a reason. :D As you may know, SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography like this. SHINee live is like none other, and their stages are some of the best in the industry. Their concerts last 3 to 4 hours straight and they perform nonstop and never sound out of tune or out of breath. They are also one of the best dancers in Kpop and they have some of the best harmonies you will ever hear. SHINee literally set the standard when it comes to live performances. It is actually known as the SHINee standard and it's what all other groups strive to reach. SHINee are Idol's Idols and legends among legends. They are one of the groups that pretty much made Kpop what it is today. I also recently found where someone has reuploaded the whole concert DVD of SHINee World Concert IV in Seoul -- the whole 3+ hours -- and it even has English subs for all the parts where they interact with the audience, right in the video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bLqbobJ9ytm5k2g.html It really feels like you are right there at this concert. You should take the time to watch this whole concert sometime. Even if you can't react to the full concert -- watch it on your own sometime. :D You really can't fully grasp just how magnificent of performers SHINee are until you watch a full concert from beginning to end and see what makes a SHINee concert so unique.

SHINee concerts are insane.. INSANE!!! They can make you cry during the ballads and make you jump on the dance hype jam sessions. And yeah.. they are TINY ons stage.. like COTTON BUDS TINY.. we bring binoculars if we want to see them on stage.. like not via the screen.. but the atmosphere for sure is crazy.. watching on screen gives no justice.
