SHINee's View was the first ever deep house song in k-pop, it introduced the genre to the industry, the styling was also ground breaking at the time. The lyrics were written by Jonghyun and it describes a love experienced through Synesthesia, he did it so well that Universities in Korea use the lyrics to teach about Synesthesia. the song was chosen by the members and the styling was done by Key. The MV was shot in Thailand.

If I'm not mistaken, Shinee were the first to use deep house music in k-pop. At first they were even criticized for wearing too "simple" clothes on stage for "View". In "Why So Serious", Jonghyun was absent due to a car accident. Hard is unlike anything Shinee has done before, because that was the goal, to do something that hasn't been done before.

they did do songs similar to HARD in the past, but it was only a few times and always in b-sides, never as a title track.

@@Ofra8191- Yes, I heard about that, but I didn't mention it, considering that the guys themselves called it a new experience. And to be honest, I really love Shinee. I've seen all their SW concerts, listened to all their albums, but I can't name any of these songs. I myself wouldn’t mind if someone told me what songs they were talking about.

SHINee introed deephouse into Kpop through View. SHINee’s music is so distinct. Also, Why So Serious LIVE IS SOOOOOOO FUN! It’s made to be performed Live.

WHY SO SERIOUS was recorded when jonghyun wasn't able to join , but in the stage version , he was there singing his heart out, taking the song to another level..so please react to the stage version of WHY SO SERIOUS... and thank for this deep dive of shinee, i hope you do more of shinee content...

view is one of Shinee's iconic songs. With this song shinee introduce deep house to k-pop. It's a song written by Jonghyun like Selene 6.23, odd eye, juliette and many other songs (not only for shinee but also for others groups ) ...I recommend you listen to them live because shinee live are on another level

I agree with everything you said @ 7:11. Although SM's known for doing experimental songs especially with their other group NCT. I believe you haven't reacted to them yet and I hope you will in the future. Thank you for this reaction!

The MV for Why so serious unfortunately only has 4 members, Jonghyun was in a car accident and injured his nose, SM decided to go on with the release anyway because the album itself was ready (the album version of the song has 5 members), so they made the other 4 re-record the song for the MV with Taemin covering most of Jonghyun lines and released it as 4 and promoted the song as 4. SHINee are known as being able to pull off (very well) ANY genre of music, it's one of their things.

As expected with SHINee, they always manage to surprise you! But fans would know HARD is not their first foray into hiphop. In earlier albums, they had some some hip-hop infused tracks. And we shawols definitely jumped to bring this fact up, when netizen once again criticized the comeback saying, HARD doesn't sound like SHINee pr Hip-Hop is not a sound for SHINee 😅 I mean SHINee were born in the era of HipHop they would be familiar the early boom bap era of Hip hop, pretty sure. Anyway, One thing to always remember is SHINee always address themselves as a Contemporary band, meaning keeping up with the trend. And they certainly do abide by that USP, if you go through their discography. No one evolved quite like SHINee did.

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. If u think Shinee does not do Hip Hop u are severely mistaken! U don't know Shinee. These guys are alternative and genre creators. So many younger groups are inspired by them. They can do any genre. They are that good. Also, they had a huge vocal part in there. Poor Onew. Got dissed bad. Tsk. Shinee's members all finished military service. Many groups breakup or disband after this. Not Shinee though. Hard is the title track for their new album by the same name Hard. In it they incorporated parts of the other members. It's really cool. This shows they not done and still part of the industry. Onew was very ill and took a year off. That is why he is not in some parts of the MV. I'll share more later. Laters. -NY USA 2019 Army💜

Valen: View is very much in that era (2015) Theo: Why.. are there many deep house songs in that era? Valen: I don’t know 💀 ‘View’ was actually the first deep house music in the Kpop Music Scene This genre was not that popular even in the American Music, and is more popular in Club/Bar music but not in the mainstream. Deep house music was popularized in the late 80s-90s. I think Valen is confused with ElectroPop which was the dominant music in 2015 both in Kpop and American Pop.
