Nothing against BTS - they're very talented and deserve their success - but when I see people claim that they're the best Kpop group in the world I can't help but laugh and think of SHINee. They are, without question, the best performers, the best singers, the best dancers, the best artists in Kpop, both individually and together. They are the reason Kpop is what it is today and, along with many other 2nd gen groups, are the reason that kpop is now so big in the west. I'm not even a Shawol - I'm an ELF - and I'm saying this because you don't need to be a hardcore fan to recognise how incredible they all are.

I am 60 years old and I discovered Shinee 4 years ago ... and I fell madly in love. I listen to them and listen to them again, I look at them and I always get excited, the tears fall without realizing it ... and my heart tightens every time I look at Jonghyun's eyes and smile, I miss like the air I breathe. They are extraordinary and for me they will always be 5, he is with them, I see him, I feel him, he supports them in all their performances both as a group and as soloists, he never leaves them alone. 💙💙💙💙💙

I am saying this as an ARMY that many people know BTS today because of billboard charts and records, them being advertised everywhere but before all this was SHINee breaking records, creating amazing and unique type of music every time. SHINee was one of the first few kpop bands that rose to fame even beyond Korea because of their music and dance. To date I am obsessed with Replay and a bop like that never gets old.

Honestly, if it wouldn't be for SHINee, I would have eventually stopped listening to K-Pop. Even Jonghyun's death made me stop for a while, but SHINee really is the reason why I am here right now, writing this comment and listening to K-Pop for over 10 years now. I am absolutely proud and happy to be a Shawol, this fandom is by far the most supportive and positive and all of the members see how much we love and appreciate them and that Shawols are also there for each other! SHINee is the Best KPop group. Unrivaled. Unparalleled. Undisputed. And don't come to me with album sales and YT views or whatever endorsements because each period and each generation don't have access to the same things. I'm talking about what makes them the BEST. Their artistry, innovation and their superior ability to convey all of that (vocal and musical ability, dance, vision...) They have been there since 2008, and continue to be the blueprint and the absolute reference. They have inspired so many. They are without any doubt the most covered Kpop group, because covering their difficult songs give some artistic validation. They are the most cited by their professional peers as being their inspiration. Taemin the maknae (youngest) has also turning into a monster, arguably the best KPop male solo performer. This group insanely talented. And as a Shawol that is the most important for me. They have been uncompromising from day one about their artistry and identity. No matter the trend, no matter what make sell. And last but not least their personalities. They are literally adored by everybody surrounding them their seniors/ juniors/staff etc...Just the sweetest guys. So humble and kindhearted, well taught by the softest leader in the world Lee Jinki aka Onew. And their bond...unique, genuine. It's a flex, and honor to be a Shawol when you love music. And we are served well with these amazing people

I'm sorry. I said I wouldn't cry, but the ending credits were so emotional. SHINee are amazing artists, all members have different talents and when combined, they shine bright like star. This star till some years ago was only fictional, but now we know it's Jonghyun and that he will remembered as one of the greatest artists South Korea has ever produced

This made me ugly cry. I think every single fandom agrees that Shinee is the ultimate kpop group. If you're a fan of kpop (not just one group but kpop in general) Shinee is almost definitely in your top. I feel like I grew up with them and because the genres of their songs keep changing, I liked each and every era of their music. Every album was a masterpiece. Every solo debut from this group has been a masterpiece. They are one of a kind. And without a doubt, most iconic debut song in the history of kpop.

I knew about SHINee from their debut days but I didn’t Stan them, I didn’t Stan any group. I was busy being a K-pop social butterfly so I know most of the 2nd and 3rd gen groups but there’s something about SHINee that makes them different from other groups. Aside from how super talented they are, their genuine love for each other and to us Shawols is always heartfelt. Plus they’re still so humble despite being in the industry for more than a decade and the fandom is so peaceful. I’ve been a babywol for a couple of months now and a major Blinger. Everyone’s my bias wrecker tho. 🙈 I know I’m a bit late. Happy 5HINee day everyone! Sending you all a big warm hug! ♥️

Additional facts! Taemin has been also vocally coached by Jonghyun. SHINee used to send him to school during their pre debut and debut days because he was bullied. Him being the youngest to debut that time set the bar higher too. Jonghyun is also a writer / novelist / poet. He is the only one who had not officially debuted as an actor among them 5, and had the potential. SHINee being actors make them all-around artists in their own rights. Onew has a masteral and doctorate in a music degree. You can see with how he can control his voice, although they all can. He is not super confident with his dancing, but the man sure does dance amazingly. Ever seen his break dance hiphop style? SHINee is very versatile. Minho has found it difficult to rap and sing at first because of his lisps. And probably because he is the 1st one to debut as an actor among the 5, the techniques used by actors to avoid lisps helped him too. Plus, being the lowest toned among the 5, he had to keep up with the other 5 but his fine arse proved to be a great balance for the group. He has really good singing voice too. Key is the triple threat when they debuted (vocal, rap, dance) and he can memorise any dance by one to few glances only. Being a diva in a savage group? Set the bar way too high. They tend to learn a choreo a day to 3 days before performing them live, example: Kimi no sei de. They performed it 1dt live in Tokyo Dome after only learning it in that short time frame. SHINee is the 1st kpop group to be acknowledged by their South Korean president and been appointed as ambassadors. They promoted themselves in the streets during their debut. They perform under the typhoon while having fun! They were called experimental group not only for music, dance, fashion but also for variety shows. It's not only them who made trends and left trademarks but also shawols -- heard them sing during concert breaks? Or while waiting for concerts or shows that showcase other groups too? They're so loud. And the 1st use of the thick lightsticks (shabats) made other concerts prohibit the use of its scenestealing prospects. Their light shine the most among other fans :D A lot more to learn about them. They had their own individual trademark colours aside from the group's Pearl Aqua too btw. And speaking of Pearl Aqua, they set the bar too high in Japan! Shawols had lit their towers in pearl aqua in some occasions aside from being the 1st kpop group to fill the dome! And SHAWOL - SHINEE relationship -- Jonghyun let shawols touch his / their face when their manager / bodyguards / staff prohibited them. The boys said they trust shawols. Shawols behaved while they did so.

I’m someone who would follow an artist for their music and talent but not popularity. I was introduced to a popular 3rd gen K-Pop group which was nice but it really didn’t slap in the face with amazing talent or vocals. SHINee just easily captured me, it was just one title song! Oh boy I tell you, their b-sides are even better than the titles. I have never skipped a SHINee’s song. Their solos as amazing. All the 5 are true artists! I sometime feel bad that people are blinded by fame and awards and don’t know what music really is and what more K-Pop is capable of. SHINee is definitely the finest and best. Not just their music, but I’m amazed by their personalities, beliefs, attitude, humbleness and last but not the least their fandom. I’d say I’m lucky to be a Shawol and have been the happiest.

I’ve been listening to Kpop since 2010, and I have to admit that nothing can satisfy me like SHINee. I might be biased as I’m a shawol, but I did listen to other groups from time to time and I still think, SHINee is the best for me. What I like most about them is that they are very experimental and unique in their music. You get fresh and new music for every comeback. That’s why even after 13 years, people still have big expectation for every SHINee comeback. They never care about what other people do, they continously release song that really represents SHINee colors. Being experimental in your music is risky because it depends on how public accepts, but SHINee continues to do it and after many years, it has somehow become one of their strengths. SHINee title tracks are good, but their b-sides are mutiple times better. I used to be very sensitive about ranking and popularity when I first started listening to kpop, but I after a while, what really matter is the quality of the music. Fame will fade away, but not quality. Of course Shawols want to give as much awards/trophies/wins as we could to SHINee but those things doesn’t necessarily define the real quality of a group. SHINee might not be the most popular or has the biggest fandom ever, but I’m proud for what they have done all these years through their music. Remember Key said “If I think of SHINee, there were never a moment where I feel embarassed of it”. Also Onew “I’m so proud that I’m actually a part of SHINee”. We, Shawols, are proud that we are a part of them too. My only wish is that, I hope more people can try to open their heart, eyes, and ears and try to listen to SHINee. I don’t want SHINee to be recognized by their popularity but rather their music, talent and art because that’s what SHINee truly is.

for me, i got into shinee through superM and watching taemin's performances! I was thrilled by the sheer energy and passion he had whilst on stage and since then I have also become a fan of SHINee. Their artistry as you said is incredible and watching them perform truly gives me happiness. Most groups nowadays are just products made by their companies, no input, hardly any live stages and just a lack of genuineness in their position as a performer. But SHINee delivers art. Truly applaud the effort they put into their work and I believe that is what makes them withstand within the industry for so long.

i actually got introduced to kpop bec of bts. That was 2 years ago. I started to venture into other groups and then I realized that there are so many other kpop artists out there who are equally good but arent given much attention. I have nothing against bts bec im actually a fan but when I dicovered shinee, my expectations on performances just went above the ceiling. These guys are just above there. I got into K pop through BTS over 7 years ago and for most of that time, only listened to them. Then I decided to branch out and have come to love many different artists, but none like Shinee. Taemin replaced Jimin as my favourite dancer and just favourite everything!

I started watching and listening to kpop in 2017. I'm from Kerala,India. So our language is completely different from korean, its called Malayalam. Since we have different languages among us we're busy learning that and also English. No other foreign languages are popular among us. So, coming to the point, I have a friend who is diehard Kpop fan, not only kpop kdramas, films also. I used to tease her for that. Then I started to think 'What is KPop? Why is she in to it so much ?'. So i decided to listen kpop,but i didn't know where to start. So i decided to ask KZfaq itself. I searched Best Kpop songs and i got a result of Top 10 kpop songs. I started listening each and every songs. I was like 'okay...' 'okay...'. While playing a particular song I was amazed by the music, vocals and choreography of that song. It had something extra(for me) that none of other songs gave me. Then i searched for that particular song and started to watch each and every live performances of that song.I got the answer i was looking for. It was a different experience for me watching a group of boys singing and dancing synchronised live. And that song was Lucifer by Shinee. From that day onwards i became a fan of Shinee. Since then i have listened many kpop musics, seen many different groups. Then i search for their musics maybe i like one or two of their songs maybe not. But i have to say 'Nobody i mean nobody has impressed me like Shinee did and still they are'. And all their songs are my favourites. Now I'm addicted to Shinee without knowing a single word they are singing and saying😎😁😂. I like other groups too mainly from SM.

Ive been Shawol for over 10 years now. I can't believe how much SHINee hss accomplished and evolved over time. They were one of the first two groups I ever listened to. I will never forget the first time I heard Lucifer and RDD!! I will never forget listening to their View comeback. I got to see them in 2012 at a KBS NY song festival in New Jersey and they performed Lucifer and RDD and it was one of the most amazing moments of my life. They truely are one of the greatest kpop bands and artists ever. Not even just in kpop but their success all over the world even before social media became a thing is truely inspirational.
