This is actually the craziest album. Peak king crimson and pink floyd with Peter Gabriel theatrics. They must have been smoking the same weed.

Hello. I'm from France and I love japanese prog. It's a great event to see makoto Kitayama singing with shingetsu their best track. It's a pity it's playback, but thank you very much thought.

Thanks, J.M. Bérnard and Archimode for your comments. I'm a spanish J. prog lover too. This band is one of my favorites ("Bi kyo ran" is great too), the true pity is that they only released 1 album. There is a live cd of Shingetsu, but I don't know about existence of any video live. They have too a new album called "From a Distant Star" released in 2005 but is included in a very very very expensive box, that contains all works of Shingetsu and pre-Shingetsu bands. Thanks and sorry for my english :P

C'est vrai c'est un magnifique morceau. J'ai juste un peu flippé au début quand j'ai vu sa gueule x) Mais il a vraiment une voix magnifique je trouve.

Hello folks. Yes, Bi kyo ran is great, and Outer limits (The scene of pale blue), Ataraxia, Pageant... Shingetsu is the ancester of these bands. Thank you Konchuko for the informations about the box. I'll try to check it. Do you know other works by leader Makoto Kitayama ? I know three of them : Douboutsukai no chinou (1981) and Practical encyclopedia of kingdom plantae (2008) which are mainly synth layings : interesting but not great. The CD Hikaru Sazanami (1998), under the name Makoto Kitayama and Shingetsu project, is a killer : the first track (an epic of 10 minutes) is, IMO, better than the original music of 1979 !!! Can you imagine that ? If you do not know it, you will be blown out !! You can have it through MUSEA label from France. Greatings. JM

+jean-michel bénard Hi friend. Yes I know Hikaru Sazanami album by Makoto, of course I like it very much. This 10 min first track includes a piano part that remember me a little the south spanish prog rock of the 70's of bands such as "Iman Califato Independiente". I'm a fan of prog rock since several years ago but before of that I was a true lover of the asian folk musics, above all the japanese folk. One day, the J folk and the prog rock joined in my life, that was when I start to listen these bands. The folk wave is more evident on Ryusuke Seto albums and in the first works of Osamu Kitajima, I love their music too.

Konchuko Hello my friend. The piano part, which is terrific, reminds me of the first album of Alameda, some works of Los Jaivas, Gikyoku onsou by Sakuraba Motoi. It is very closed to Banco del Mutuo Soccorso's Metamorfosi, especialy the version you can find on the cd Banco (1975), which is english sang : the association of piano and percussions is very enjoyable !!! I'm also very fond of traditional music from Japan, especialy when the shakuhashi is used. Today I've listened to Osamu's The Source, which is said to be the most progressive, but it's only New Age music to my ears. But I've listened to an album called Passages from 1975, and I find it very interesting, reminding me of some Far east family band music, with acoustic instruments. Well, I love Japan, and am very proud to have a japanese friend.
