Shinko 705 Tyres Review - Honda NC750X

I've fitted Shinko e705 tyres to my Honda NC750x. So far I'm really happy with them and during this ride through familiar territory I scrub them in and give them a bit of a work out.

You know I love the 705's, but man when I got the 150 rear, replacing the 170, I had the same experience. My vid of the first ride will show me oversteering quite a bit. Thanks for going down "my" road, lol - great review mate. I get about 10K out of a rear and double that on the front. The front does tend to "walk" a little 1/2 way through it's wear. The traction on the 150 is ridiculous. Adrian did a really good vid on that explaining how there's a better contact patch. RSM8.

I will follow your progress with these tyres, my issue is the daily commute just squares off any 80/20 or 70/30 tyre so quickly. The Pirelli Scorpion Trails I had were brilliant but squared off within 8000km. On Michelin R5s now to get some mileage.....they are bloody awesome on the road by the way. Thanks for the video👍

Nice to see the complete video. Technical shift happens ! As for “vibes” I suspect it’s a price you have to pay for “chunky”. Certainly the variants I’ve tried have that “feature”.

Looks like you're pretty happy with the Shinkos. Here in W. Canada we still have snow on the ground, so I won't be taking my bike out for another month, or so. Great to see your rides in the meantime. Any updates on your tire review since you first posted? Those Shinkos are top of my list for replacements, when the time comes.

Thanks very much and yes. Stillloving the Shinkos. Great on the tar as well. Quite grippy and not too bad in the wet. I'll do a review again at some stage once I get my act together. Cheers.

@@returnrider4952 After only getting about 6200 km from the OEM Dunlop 609's, I put on a set of Shinko 705's. First impression riding home from the shop was that they seemed to want to turn VERY easily. Just a little pressure on the handlebar. That was on green tires, with 0 kilometers on them. A couple of days later, I had the chance to take them on a 250 km ride, almost all on pavement. I liked the handling once they were scrubbed in a bit. A little noisier than the stock tires, and I think my fuel economy is a bit worse, but I'll have to put a lot more miles on to make that determination.

i thought the standard NC750x don't get ABS and only DCT has it?

Did you replace both front and back. What size for both???

Yes mate. 120x70 r17 front. 150x70 r17 rear.

They're pretty good - but I have a new rear tyre now. Much better all round.

@@returnrider4952 what tires are you using now? I've just put on some Shinkos 705 from some Michelin PR5s on my NC750X. Haven't clocked much, but so far very good!

@@torrid94 I've still got a Shinko on the front but have gone to a Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR. Really great tyre in the dirt and gravel. Very happy with it. Excellent on the road as well. About to post another vid of a ride I did with a fair bit of dirt and give an overview (poorly LOL) of how its going. Cheers.
