A step by step how-to on creating a dorodango with a graphite mirror finish. Compressing a very thin layer of graphite makes it get very reflective. And upon testing, found it had higher conductivity than uncompressed graphite powder, maybe kind of like graphene.
Shout out to my friend, Mike Room, for inspiring this idea.

If you want to know more about dorodangos, here's a link
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorodango
------- Materials: ------
You can get clay at your local ceramic supply, or you can process it yourself from dirt. Here's also a link to some facial clay that should do the job -
amzn.to/2Qc2rTw
You can get sand from your local sand and gravel yard, hardware store, wash, or nearest sandbox.
Marble powder or marble dust really helps the process, you can sometimes find it at your local hardware store, but here's a link -
amzn.to/2ZVmhqF
Pure graphite powder is readily available at the local hardware store, you want to make sure it's extra fine and pure graphite.
here's the link to the one I've been using -

gam mal Hi, I'm the other person who helps make these videos. The ball actually doesn't stain anything. The graphite is highly compressed from the glass jar, so it doesn't rub off at all. And yep, it is slightly cool to the touch!

You guys are appreciated for sharing your talents and knowledge. How lucky to find such elevating vibes while checking out a few how to videos for weekend project. I now have to figure out how I can incorporate a earthen floor somewhere at my house and when I can spend the day dedicated to learning to create the spheres.

You’ve motivated me to get completely into this. It’s awesome!! I got some sifted sandy soil from the backyard. Got some plain clay cat litter for cheap in a large bag. Some containers, jars, bowls, spray bottle and a spice grinder too. I used the grinder for the clay and then a mesh strainer for the dirt. Found a good ration with water for make the core mix. Then I’ve taken powdered clay and other stuff I’ve tried for the shell. This is really fun and relaxing. I like making anything really and glad I found this. Thank you.

I got 4 days of "extra holiday" from my gentle and super kind hearted boss (because i have 25 free days in this year, but because of corona, i have to work every single day since the end of february... and if I don't take off as many free days as possible, our agency have to pay some penalty money for the work-force-office something - i Don't know it's name even in my native tongue). So, because I'm a projekt / sales / costumer / senior office menager - and a general fixer, and mid range IT man, and delivery guy... (sorry, corona make my life colorful... we lost many collegues due the drop of the orders since spring) I work 10-12 hours daily... And our Dojo closed permanently due corona... and generally i never had any free time... so, any, in short words I now watching this mesmerising work of art :D - I'm just minutes to grab the garbage shovel, and raid the nearby playground for material... :D :D :D You make my day! - Dispite me and my girlfriend living in a 38m2 2 room flat, i will try this! -I don't give a f.ck if i make mess! :D :D :D - but i can't guarantee to not fly my work of art into some neighbors forehead :D :D :D
