Shiny Regidrago in Pokemon Sword after 6,445 resets

A little later than most but this hunt but I think it's a neat shiny, so decided to give what will likely be a last hurrah to Gen 8. I really like a lot of the Gen 8 Pokemon designs but I didn't overly enjoy hunting in this generation. I have quite large hands so joycons aren't very comfortable. I do have a Pro Controller but it's hard to hunt using it as well hunting in the sprite games.
I have some good memories of this generation but I don't think it's one that I will come back to very often outside of maybe Dynamax Adventures here and there. It just wasn't for me, and that's fine.

Regidrago was the absolute bane of my existence when I hunted it when it first came out. It took me over a month and over 30k SR’s but it was worth it when it finally sparkled

Awesome find, man! Definitely going for this eventually as well. Bummer these games don't have soft resets though. Also, I found my shiny Electrike on Alpha Sapphire while watching this video! It's modest, too. Thanks again for wishing me good luck earlier today, it seems to have helped quite a bit!

5:07 I love the simpler, subtler shinies too, but this shiny isn't even that subtle tbh, idk why people think it is. It's a pretty clear shift from the olive green. I think what happens is that it's just not too impressionable sometimes cus of its design and depending on the lighting its in. For example most people see it inside this dark shrine where it's a lot more faded due to the lighting, but look at it anywhere with good lighting or even just the summary, or like at 6:29 at the caught screen, and the blue pretty clearly pops, it's hard to mistake it for the non-shiny. The blue looks so good with the red body tbh. Regieleki is my personal fav and I absolutely love its shiny, so that's what I hunted, but I'm definitely considering starting a new profile just to hunt this too. :) The dragon face stance when using its signature move kinda blows me away.

my first hunt in the Crown Tundra as a previously only 1/1365 odds hunter (started in SWSH) was Registeel and it took 16,018 encounters and over 300 hours. Absolutely brutal, but I did end up getting all 6 Regi's from SWSH. Grats on Regidrago!

Congrats Steve. And yes, switch resets are very bad and feel laborious. Regieleki was roughly 11k with charm for me, so i can say i know where you’re coming from.

Cool, just got a shiny pawniard in pokemon X with a pokeradar chain of 40, it took 36 recorded minutes of resetting the tiles until one sparkled.

I did these hunts under the impression the charm worked or I may have not attempted if I had known it didn't work on them at the time, and got everything under odds, including registeel and regirock back to back in a combined like 75 encounters. Talk about luck haha

I am currently 25k resets into a swsh regirock hunt, i despise full odds hunts. They have never been fun to me but it has to be done.

I changed the controls for resetting on switch. Don't know if it'll help, but it saved me when I hunted piplup in SP

You need to do the Shiny arceus hunt in bdsp as the final boss of Switch shiny reset hunts

You could of made this hunt faster. If u run/knock out the Regi, it puts u back in the room. You would need to do the pattern again to rebattle but u don't need to soft reset.

I was triple hunting alongside this with other systems. Doing Run Aways is absolute ballache, as much as I dislike Switch resets.

@@Sonikks I used the regis to level pokemon I EV trained while hunting, would feed the pokemon Vitamins for the EVS then knock out the regis while shiny hunting so it didn't feel like shiny hunting but leveling. I got Registeel in 31 encounters but I got Regieleki in over 5000 don't remember the exact number bit I was kinda upset lol cause I was spoiled with Registeel

You probably won't see this but you didn't need to hard reset the game to hunt it, if you just kept resetting the puzzle that's actually a little quicker

It's considerably more work. Resetting is button spamming. Why bother doing the puzzle and doing more work?

@@Sonikks just feels a bit quicker for me. run away, run over the buttons and then interact with the statue again, repeat. Hard resets in general aren't fun why I don't do much hunting for BDSP legends. I'm sure everyone misses the soft reset feature which is probably why the switch also doesn't feel as fun

Took me 1,640 to get shiny Regieleki. You know, you can keep defeating it until ur Pokédex count goes at 500+ and boost shiny odds by a good chunk and check the totem after putting in the “code”

That's not true. These are full odds regardless of "method". The KO method doesn't work nor does the shiny charm change the odds.
