Fantastic video Emma! Some teachers tell their students to say 'seaside' instead of 'beach' to avoid this /ɪ/ and /iː/ problem, but I think it is important to work on the difference!

As a Hungarian it's really easy to make a difference between /ɪ/ and /iː/ because we have i and í in our alphabet which are pronounced basically the same (as /ɪ/ and /iː/).

Brilliant Emma ....Best British Pron on KZfaq. Many thanks... A small suggestion ...As a language leaner and English teacher it would be great if you could add a X graphic (in red) when you are demonstrating the incorrect sound. Or alternative sound to the word groahic on the screen. Can be a bit confusing for some students.

A very very useful lesson as always! I like a lot that you say the wrong pronunciations of words as well because I think in this way we can understand better the sounds and this helps us to recognize and to distinguish them. I think you said sit-peach-feet-bit. Thank you very much! :)

I agree! I think so many teachers on KZfaq who teach pronunciation don't often distinguish between what learners tend to say and what's correct (in British English, anyway). So many students can never really hear or feel that difference. Luckily, I'm here to help though! :) Also, you're SO CLOSE!!! I have noticed my mistake.... aayyy, " my stupid ears"! :D Anyway, I like doing mistakes because it helps me a lot to improve my English. Yes, I totally agree with you, Emma! And unfortunately, there are many online English ''teachers" and I think we English learners should be more selective. Well done, Emma I'm still having issues with the long "i", because the words with it and the words with the short still end up being pronounced the same way. An example is shown here it and eat When they occur together in a sentence. How I wish i could share with you directly to give more practical examples. I sincerely your work 👍👌🥂🙏

I'm pretty sure that some people pronounce "busy" wrong cause they don't know how to say it right way. The deference is that some people don't care how to say it right and another ones who interested in English still learning pronunciations and English at all. I know it's funny for British people to hear weird sounds, but as for me i'm trying to sound better. Every one makes mistakes, doesn't it? Thanks for your video Emma. Your videos are really helpful.
