I miss Tim Meadows, Will Ferrell, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig as much as I love Kate & Kenan. I'm still heartbroken over losing Hartman & Farley, and due to my age, appreciating Belushi, etc. SNL has had so many great appearances

Because its a live skit, it either had to be done on the outside or inside. Inside is usually preferable because they are anal about the setting. Notice the lighting outside and dimmer inside. Meaning actors aren't distracted and cameras don't have lens flare or other issues associated with bright settings.

There obviously comes a point in a sketch like this where a performer realizes the audience is pretty quiet and it isn't really working, but you have to keep going - that's when you earn your paycheck.
