For those who don’t know what has been going on. I have been wanting and planning to do a uk train tour around the UK, the main point of the plan i is to travel on all existing class 43 HST that are still in normal passenger operation. And the plan consist of 8 days.
Day 1: Brighton to York (on class 91)
Day 2: visit the National Railway Museum
Day 3: York to Edinburgh (on either LNER Class 80X or XC (CrossCountry) HST (Class 43).
Day 4: Edinburgh to Inverness via Aberdeen (on ScotRail 4 car HST)
Day 5: Inverness to Edinburgh (on ScotRail 5 car HST)
Day 6: Edinburgh to Bristol (on XC HST) then another GWR train to Cardiff
Day 7: Cardiff to Penzance (on GWR castle set HST), then at night taking the GWR Night Rivera to London
Day 8: arrives at London and back to Brighton.
That was the initial plan. Until everything came to shit as my dorm accommodation only now tell me that my parents need to pay in full instead of paying yearly. Which ruins the trip as all the money have went to that. I tried cutting down the big leg of Brighton to Inverness instead taking a EasyJet to Inverness. Then from there continue down to Penzance with 4 days. However even that my parents refused to let me go due to the high cost of the hotels and train travel. My parents can’t afford me to go and they are scared that somebody might rob me of everything on the trip (in short safety issues). I am just mad at my dorm accommodation for the sudden pay in full and my parents for not believing in me. After I finish my course in university I don’t think I will ever want to come back to Hong Kong, from the currency to the politics. I can’t bare to life there anymore…
