Remember this bridge, remember the boat people who would wade it their boats about sunset and ask for us to throw change and down to them. Remember your first time crossing Shit River.

I remember it well, west pac's 81,82, and 83 on the USS Ranger CV61. I miss those days! Anyone remember the Samari in Bario Baretta just outside of Olongapo? It was the best massage and BJ you could get, and it only cost $2.35 American lol. Those were the days. I wish I could do it all again.

Omg!!! I lived on Subic Bay in 1989! I remember the Shit River and I distinctly remember this one club that had a dance floor that you could see from the street. Oh man! I walked down these streets with my Ate and Manaangs. Brings back SO many memories. Thank You

"Life on the Midway"...right Tichenor, Bamboo, Stoner, Bam-booboo and Beefy. Once the first 2 yrs were behind you the next 18 months was a cinch...especially once you made E-5. Let's not forget Gordon Ave! Who out there got soaked during the summer monsoon season...I did June 1985...morphed into a duck after 7 days leave.

i was there twice in 1983. Between that summer, and my arrival a few months later, they put that stupid barrier up. Prior to that there were "virgins" in canoes tied to the bridge with little baskets to catch pesos we would throw them.
