The fact that they don't throw her misjudgment of Con. Qiao in her face is a blessing. I'm petty enough to shut her down with it every time I see her trying to run anything. "My illegitimate status isn't stopping me from being a good mother and wife. and Con Qiao being a legitimate daughter didn't stop her from murderous actions and intent." Perhaps the old lady just needs to set back!

@@arilu89x I'm like you....PETTY...lol I would rub it in her face every chance I got especially when she brings up my status as an illegitimate daughter. I wouldn't give it a second thought before you know it she would stop giving her advice on how to raise my kids....especially since she couldn't or wouldn't see through Lianfang's lies. She nearly destroyed the entire Xu family by putting Lianfang in charge of managing household affairs. She nearly killed her grandson by putting Lianfang in charge of his care/refused to admit that she made a mistake. I would never let her forget how misguided she was/how her prejudice nearly destroyed the family.

So true...Shiyi has turned everything around for that family especially Lingyi/his boys. He's really stepped up his game when it comes to parenting his sons. I guess he took Shiyi's advice to heart when it came to him being a role model for Zhun. She was right on the money because he's starting to come out of his shell. He doesn't run away from his father anymore. It's a different relationship that they can cherish. Yu is such a big brother. He really looks after Zhun. This is what the GM was trying to prevent but Shiyi pushed forward/allowed them to develop a relationship with each other....and with Lingyi's support his sons can finally bond with each other. Shiyi fought hard for them and it paid off. The GM is useless at this point. I don't even know why her opinion still counts. She doesn't treat her family with the love/respect they deserve. She tries to control every aspect of their lives. She's done more harm than good. I do love how Shiyi/Lingyi were working together to deal with her negativity regarding Yu/Zhun's relationship. Lingyi had to hold Shiyi back because he knew she wasn't going to give up without a fight. He's been on the receiving end enough times to know it won't end well for his mother....lol They make a good team. Concubine Wen has a merchant's heart. Everything is a business transaction to her...including her son. Shiyi told her at one point to talk to her son to find out what he wanted...she gave Lingyi the same advice. He listened but Concubine Wen didn't because she was too busy trying to blame Shiyi. If she cared about her son then she would've put his needs above everything else. Yu was a tool that she used when she wanted to make a profit. Lingyi learned to value Yu's opinion. He gave him the power to make his own decision....it's the one thing that Wen was incapable of doing. I can understand why he wanted to protect his son because he knew Wen would use him in a heartbeat if it meant helping her family. He wasn't going to allow Yu to become a bargaining chip. He made the right call.
