What ive lesrned is to buy good supplies if you want to try anything new. Usually such cheap materials make you think you suck but its actually the material

you should look in to slab building too! very beginner friendly and accessible. i find it to be a lot easier for plates too. my fav plate hack is to put a slab on the wheel and then cut it into a circle and turn up the edge instead of throwing the plate it is a lot simpler and i get less cracking /warping
