No night life or big city vibes? Sign me up 😂. I'm in Englewood and even this place has to much city life for me.

One thing I would add is cost of living, Venice is full of wealthy retirees, rent is super expensive along with most other things.

I found Venice to have equal negatives and positives seasonally that even each other out. During snowbird season, it's more crowded but the weather is cooler and pleasant. The other half of the year, it's less crowded but hotter. For me, it's a great balance in a wonderful area. I love this town/city.

Hey, Venice businesses cater to the population who will patronize them. If that's the older people with bad hips vs the young hipster generation, they give that generation what they're willing to pay for. Although the local music scene is a pretty heavy diet of Trop Rock, we've been to some bars and restaurants with multi talented bands that mix in current pop music for a younger crowd. But I've always seen good vibes between young and old, everyone has a good time, so don't think it'll be a grueling night out with your grandparents.

So I'm 41 (hate it) But i'm very fit/athletic, have tons of energy and like to go out every other day or weekly. I'm always out of the house. BUT given my age....I don't want to be in a town with all young people. Should I stick to places with older folks like Naples, or is there a place for my age group that I can go to? I'm not looking for quiet...just similar age group and not be out of place

Naples is a much older population (closer to late 60s-70s) Venice is an older population as well. We have mainly retirees, snowbirds and some families that are moving to the area. Sarasota is a little younger crowd but I think Venice would fit what you’re looking for as well :)

Be carful if the indigenous population.. largely uneducated and small minded. They think they own the neighborhood and are obsessed with the height of your grass
