I was in a Dior boutique in Florida and it was COMPLETELY empty! I will say I've never purchased dior items and looking at the items in store I was not impressed! I do buy luxury items but now I have to really consider that other high end brands might come into light as well. Very sad that some people wrk so hard to save to buy these items. I am 1 of those people. Very sad it's pure GREED with no compassion for workers!

I saw another video on this Dior issue. I am disgusted. Although Dior has a process in place to keep them legally “safe”, I absolutely believe they knew what was going on. I feel lied to with regard to the “quality” Dior sells us on in the boutiques, and frankly embarrassed. Not inspecting the factories that manufacture their goods is criminal. It is turning a blind eye. A bit of a “don’t ask, don’t tell” situation.

This will blow up across social media, there is an actual police involved. Poor workers, this is horrible and I’m waiting which brands will come up next. For sure many are doing this and this will shake the foundation of luxury name brands to the core. This practices has to stop.

I believe there’s going to be a mind shift for buyers of luxury goods more custom work with private leather masons more word of mouth.

It could be but big brand names will not die out quickly. Most of them have been around for 100 years or more so they know how to survive. My guess is they will wait until all the noise settles down and then carry on as usual.

Corporate greed. How much are these items being sold for? Weve known about Chinese foreign workers in Milan for years now.

I don't think it's bad for Dior at all. ALL luxury brands are greedy. Hello - they charge $3,000+ for bags that cost less than $100 to make - all of them - even Hermes.

Yes but officially we don’t know for each brand the cost of making their items. For Dior we now know. It’s gonna be a shockwave throughout luxury sector eventually but Dior will be the first impacted. Some will continue to buy because people are what they are but I really do believe this news will change how many of us see luxury brands.

Even with Hermes was a scandal the way their workers had to deal with challenging circumstances..

Funny that they have an agency to protect workers but we hear nothing about the condition of african workers working the farms in Italy.

This things take time. Investigation can take years and police can’t just go busting in houses/factories without valid reason. But these work practices will come out eventually.

I wonder if this is also happening with luxury cosmetics in Italy, as in Pat McGrath and others? It seems naive to think it wouldn’t be happening across much of the manufacturing. My heart breaks for the workers, this is absolutely disgusting.

Not sure about cosmetics sector but you can bet that this work practices are more widespread that we know for now.

Many Chinese in Italy do whatever they want, they don't follow neither Italian laws. Even Chanel is using Chinese in Italy , There was an Italian report from the state TV RAI about Chanel that cost 500 euros and charged so much..strange was not worldwide news.

I always had this image of artisans working on luxury brands pieces, from haute couture to bags and belts and now more and more true picture is emerging. I’m sure some are still made like this but definitely not all or maybe not even majority.

I don't understand why Gucci, Dior,Channal bags are so expensive,, where buying this super expensive bags has very very little value in few yrs,, $2000 bag after 2yrs you can't even valued for $1000,, & who wants to buy a 2nd hand designer bags for thousands of dollars,, such a waste of money,,

High price was always in part due to brand name. But now we know that (in some cases) MOST of the high price is due to brand name. 😂🤦‍♀️

Im sick of these greedy capitalists. We should have lots of innovation and choice but instead we get cheap products at inflated prices. When enough of these scandals surface, people will eventually get sick of ‘investing’ their money in conglomerate designer goods.

I had a very interesting conversation with some of my friends about luxury brands and what this news means for their future. I just recorded new video and will edit and post it tomorrow (hopefully). Some of their views really surprised me 🤔
