The Deers did smell and hear them. It wasn't there just for the deers. It could've killed the Deers in the first 2 minutes of recording but, it didn't it played and distracted the Deers. They wouldn't have stand still for over a hr or more till day break after the deers left, If they wanted the Deers. This was an Admission and a Statement. also I measured its between 10to12ft. The one Directly in front of the camera...

The smell is THOUGHT to be a Defensive mechanism..They don't ALWAYS smell...
