The Mcdougall Diet helped bring my blood pressure to normal 7 years ago. It also fixed my high cholesterol which to this day is ideal, as well as a big weight drop. I have been completely sedentary for the last couple years at least until about 4 months ago and my blood pressure was around 137/87. After very consistently and progressively better, increasing intensity for the same heart rate or slightly more, My blood pressure is normal. That was measured yesterday, twice! The diet is #1 and trumps all for good health, but my stationary recumbent bike exercise I believe is the reason the blood pressure is even better.

I don’t remember a symptom surrounding menopause. I was 49/50 and by that age our family had been Vegan 15 years. Now 19 years later at age 68 i’m still Vegan. @@annamclaughlin411 hello and thanks for asking... There is no name for it, as they aren't available over the counter, they are compounded ( made up in a pharmacy ) creams... I am personally doing "The Wiley Protocol" - so you could look into doctors who prescribe that - there is a great KZfaq Channel called Claudia Glows ( she is a very healthy long term Vegan too! ) which has a series of videos on the protocol and the hormones that you could get started with and also there is a wonderful lady doctor I have discovered recently who also prescribes physiologic level ( meaning at the levels that a healthy 30 year old would have in their body ) bioidentical hormones whose name escapes me right now but let me know and I can search it out if you are interested... But there are more and more doctors online and otherwise who are realising the grave errors made in stopping prescribing BHRT and who are now prescribing it...

Recent research and studies are showing that bioidentical hormones have none of the bad effects that the old Frankenstein hormones have. You’ll never know what you’ve done for my health and life, Dr. McDougall. I truly trust you above any other doctor. FInding you and the McDougall diet saved me in multiple ways, mentally and physically. It gave me a new lease on life. I know menopause will be easier to me on a low-fat, healthy whole food plant-based McDougall-style diet. As I watch my mom suffer through that time of life, and she refuses to change her ways, I sadly shake my head and just pray for her. Going on 40 and in premenopause, I’ve had very, very little hot flashes that only come when I increase the natural fats, like nuts or seeds. When I lower them, they go away. Thank you for your honesty. I hope I get the chance to meet you someday and shake your hand to thank you!❤

The so called “progesterone creams” over the counter rarely have any progesterone and nothing that would be therapeutic for the uterus. The so called progesterone creams from “yams” that are OTC actually were tested and don’t have progesterone but do have small amounts of estrogen.

I started the Starch Solution in January and did for about 6 weeks. In that time, my hot flashes got so much better I didn't need to wear a ponytail anymore. Less frequent and way less hot. Then we went away on a cruise. Then we got sick when we got back, then my mom ended up in hospital and is now home needing a lot more care so I've been spending a lot of time there. My healthy diet totally went out the window. I was eating I had a call yesterday to book a biopsy at the hospital because of abnormally thick endometrial lining of the uterus. I'm very nervous it could be cancer. I'm starting back on the Starch Solution properly again. Should I use the natural progesterone cream? I looked the free download and saw breast cancer. Would that be the same for uterine/endometrial cancer?

You can do FDA approved bioidentical hormones that have the 17-beta estradiol (bioidentical) in a patch or gel which is better than the Premarin pill. This will be paid for by insurance. You don’t have to do compounded meds. This Dr needs to get updated on what bioidenticals are available as FDA approved medications.

QUESTION: I am one that needs to go on HRT even if just for a short time until I don't need to work anymore, the lack of sleep is KILLING ME slowly and I just can't keep going on like this. HOWEVER, my OBGYN I met with will not prescribe without a mammogram, i told her my thoughts on them and told her I would consider thermal imaging, she told me NO you must get a mammogram. Is this a "law"? So, am I SOL about getting HRT or any support unless I sign up for mammagrams that I do not with to do? What happened to MY BODY, MY CHOICE?

Have there ever been any studies asking as to whether deoderant is the root cause of breast cancer. I realize that the western diet makes it worse. However, I often wonder if it is being caused by our own actions to reduce the smells associated with the bodies natural process to expell toxins from the lymphatic system. One way to start an initial test to the hypothesis would be to compare breast cancer rates in women who shave vs those who don't (do women shave in France?) which should correlate to the reason why women get it more then men.

I had my cholesterol go up for unknown reason and come back down within a few months. I suspected that it had to do with eating 3 ounces of peanut butter daily a few months before getting tested this year. The brand was Santa Cruz Organic Peanut Butter or a GMO version of it with the exact same ingredients. 12/28/2022 my LDL was 77 and total was 126. On 1/24/24 my LDL was 124 and total was 180. I doubled checked with another lab and it was almost exactly the same. I quit peanut butter since it was the only thing I changed since a year ago. On 4/3/24, LDL was 86 and total 137. Now, what would be very enlightening would be to start the peanut butter again but see if the LDL and total goes up again. I'm not wasting my money and simply not eating that much peanut butter daily. The saturated fat went up a significant amount eating that much peanut butter, for me. That is proven causal for increased heart attack risk. In contrast, for many people eating the standard western diet, there is no change or improvement when removing a representative cross-section foods of the same calories and replacing it with 3 ounces of peanut butter *because they eat so horribly to start*. A strict whole food-plant based program like Mcdougall diet is far better, imho.

I put the entire post above in Gemini AI run by Google. It's response is further down. I'm not going to the doctor since my numbers are good now. I want to add that I agree I might be particularly sensitive to such food when compared to other people. Here is the response from AI: It's interesting that you noticed a correlation between your peanut butter consumption and cholesterol levels. While peanut butter itself doesn't contain cholesterol, there are a few things to consider: Saturated Fat: Some peanut butters, especially commercially processed ones, can have added saturated fats. While yours mentions "organic," it's worth checking the label to see if it has saturated fat. The American Heart Association recommends limiting saturated fat to around 5-6% of your daily calories. Portion Size: Three ounces is a significant amount of peanut butter, and even healthy fats can contribute to weight gain if consumed in excess. This can indirectly affect cholesterol levels. Other Dietary Changes: You mentioned not changing your diet for a year before the increase. Did anything else change around December, like stress levels, medications, or exercise routine? These factors can also impact cholesterol. Individual Variability: People react differently to foods. While peanut butter may have affected your cholesterol, it might not for others with a different baseline or diet. Here's what I recommend: Consult a Doctor: Discuss your observations with your doctor. They can analyze your blood work, overall health, and advise if further investigation is needed. Review Peanut Butter Label: Check the specific peanut butter you were consuming for saturated fat content and added sugars. Opt for natural peanut butters with minimal added ingredients. Consider Portion Control: A moderate serving of peanut butter (around 2 tablespoons) can be part of a healthy diet. Focus on a Balanced Diet: Emphasize whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein sources. While a plant-based diet can be beneficial, it's best to discuss it with a healthcare professional to ensure you're getting all the nutrients you need. Trying peanut butter again isn't necessarily a bad idea, but it's best to do so with a doctor's guidance and in moderation. Monitor your cholesterol levels and discuss any changes with them.
