Here, its a much simpler/faster permitting process and less costly if you can save one original exterior wall portion such as where the loft was since then it can be done as a renovation/refurbish instead of new construction when part of the original structures exterior is still there left intact. We try to be mindful of that when cleaning up after a disaster to save the owner that additional grief and expense. Just something to be mindful of when clearing up storm damage. Sometimes you also need to wait for sign-off from the insurance carrier before cleaning up so they don't reduce coverage. Every place is slightly different so you need to check first. Best!

As someone who lives in the US, I can say that it is expensive to build out buildings/garages/sheds. I can't even begin to guess how much it cost to build a building like that including the contractor. To go with metal studs vs wood would have been even cheaper and lots of people do metal studs then only hang plywood where needed. I don't know the dimensions of that building but it could have cost between $14k-$50k depending upon the size. I know the price range is wide but that just goes to show that metal is the way to go.

@exohio
@exohio Ай бұрын
People build like this all over the world, including Brazil, you only see less of it because your climate calls for better materials, also people work harder for their money in Brazil and more likely to invest in better quality. But of course we can build better, some people do, we can build from solid granite if we want... But it's called 'being cheap'. People here want the nice big house and big buildings but they don't want to pay for it.. so they get a mortgage loan, put themselves in massive debt for 30 years, and build it all out of toothpicks and twist ties... 😆 In America people want things they can't actually afford, they want to look rich, and this is how they do it. So whenever you see fancy homes and neighborhoods in America, and you might think we are rich, no, we are DEFINITELY not as rich as we look! 😆

They can't legally do anything about the other homes because of insurance purposes and the home owners insurance company has to assess the properties before any claims can be processed. 😝

The blackhawk helped just as much as any other vehicle they would have taken to get there otherwise, like a car. That is, not in any way that would deserve credit. You don't say "my car saved me from losing my job!" because you drove to work. Also, "saved from tornado destruction"? Even if the helicopter had helped in any way, the tornado has already happened. There's no "saving it from destruction" when the cause of the destruction has already passed and is over. Now would be cleanup and repair work. The best way to describe it is they're using the misfortune of others to clickbait people with a technicality. Them providing help in the aftermath does not change that fact or make it right.

when the americans will learn to build houses and shops with concrete?

I feel you mate. I'm guessing it'll cost them 5 to 10x the price of a wood building. I assume the real estate is insured and they get reimbursed to build another carboard box. But what do I know, I'm an european living in a concrete building, without tornados.
