Shocking Old Trafford FLOODS: Manchester United's Downfall & INEOS' Task Ahead

The Glazers have taken Manchester United into a state of disrepair over these last 20 years and the floods at Old Trafford after Arsenal were a perfect metaphor for that.
Old Trafford was once the biggest and best stadium in England, now water is bursting through ceilings and the stairs look more like a water park than a football stadium.
Visually, nothing will sum up the huge task ahead of INEOS more than this and just why so many United fans hate even the mention of the Glazer name.

Why not put up a poll for your subscribers and watchers to find out what they want? 1) upgrade the existing stadium or 2) New Stadium.

I work im commercial construction & im very surprised if the Health & Safety Executive dont close the stadium for this, You cant have running water where theres electricity & members of the public. Theres huge risk of someone falling or slipping due to the water, Its a court case just waiting to happen. I have building sites closed down if theres no hot water for staff to wash , old trafford is an accident waiting to happen

The flood is the perfect metaphor to describe Manchester United today. Not only Old Trafford is neglected, everything at Manchester United is left in a broken state. The players, the staff, coaching staff, training ground, scouting, board members, everything is in shambles all thanks to the Glazers and Ed Woodward. It's sickening how our club is flooded in mediocrity. Ineos, I beg of you, please clean up the mess in Manchester United. I can't bare the next decade drowning in mediocrity.

I was very fortunate to visit Old Trafford last year and do the tour. It was my first time as a United fan since i was 10. I know the stadium is in bad condition, but I can tell you for a first timer that it brought tears to my eyes to just be there. I would only dream about it, and i could never ever afford it, but that day was emotional and an achievement for all the hard work i did to make it to Old trafford. Hopefully, we will resolve all our issues as a club. 😊 This club is truly magical, despite all the negativity.

It's not 'beyond repair', don't be daft.........it would be a straight forward retrofit, same as last time the stadium was redeveloped. I'm guessing you don't actually have a season ticket at Old Trafford, so please refrain from giving your opinion when it's only really the match going fans that matter. The majority of match going supporters do not want a new stadium, they would actually prefer that Old Trafford is regenerated. We're not Spurs or City.......we're a proper club with a long, distinguished history. And that history is inextricably linked to the stadium itself.

Im in the building trade most leaks and flooding are nearly always down to the roof, true to replace all the roof would cost plenty, but a lot lot cheaper then a total rebuild. @@Sparkynl It's not just what he said about the facilities. People agreed with that because it favored their agenda but they rejected everything else he said even in his first season. About the mindset of the staff, the mindset of the owners, and above all the mindset of the young players. People perceived this as Ronaldo throwing a tantrum and blaming the younger generation and started turning against him. He was absolutely right though. And yes Ronaldo wasn't as good as he was when he left or even as good as he was a couple years earlier, but he was still way more passionate, more useful and putting in way more work than 98% of the squad at the time. People decided to sht on him relentlessly day in and day out and side with the younger players and what do you got out of it? Table finish lower than when Ronaldo carried us every game in his first season. What did the players who were playing alongside Ronaldo that season went on to do? Pogba left, was injured and got caught doping himself. Greenwood assaulted his girlfriend. Cavani who spend that entire season injured is STILL getting injured every other day. Martial, I don't even need to comment on this lazy injury prone guy. Rashford as usual, performs 1 game and disappears for 10 more. Maguire still allowing easy goals with constant mistakes etc etc. Ronaldo might not have been as good as he was in his prime when he came back, but the team surrounding him was utter shite but people put the entire blame on Ronny and his lack of pressing or w/e. We got Rasmus Hojland and Weghorst (last season) and they both scored an abysmal amount of goals as opposed to Ronaldo's first season. They can't score with this team. United fans threw Ronaldo under the bus and used him as a scapegoat for all of the team's problems, kicked him out as if he was the main reason the team was bad and they did it all in his time of need when he had lost a child and another child was in the hospital fighting for its life.

INIOS want to make United great again on the pitch which is difficult because there is so much competition but One thing I am convinced of is they will make Manchester United stadium the greatest stadium in the world again weather that be new build or renovation. And I do believe they will have a duty of care to us fans, not just in keeping them dry but also not having our most vulnerable in disabled section right in front of the away fans.

I know there's a part of old trafford which is like 100 years old and survived the German bombs , and they are proud to keep that standing but they could incorporate that in what would be the car park where old trafford once stood after a new stadium was built

INEOS will have to rebuild Old Trafford unless Sam you can suggest where we can play in until the new stadium is built.

As a Spurs supporter and seeing our stadium compared to yours its a tragedy. Levy comes in for plenty of abuse, but he's a very clever business man and Spurs supporter. As for the Glaziers, they are the lowest of the low. Pure greedy Bastards. Spending public funds will only line theyre pockets further. Good luck United supporters.

Let's be grateful for that rain. The timing was serendipitous. It occurred during an important game, being televised around the world, with very high profile guests in attendance. It couldn't have happened at a better time and took the emphasis, if it was required, that the stadium is a tired, neglected old girl, to another level. I understand peoples preference for a renovation but I'm all in for a new stadium, this is no time for sentiment. If we want truly state of the art then we need to rip it up and start again. Let your imaginations run wild.

No public funds should be put towards this... Under any circumstances. Cost of living crisis, declining NHS, homeless on the rise etc. If United want to renovate or build new then pay the commercial rates from private institutions accordingly. Taking funds from a struggling council and government for a football stadium is abhorrent, unnecessary and outright evil in this current economic environment. United, build and pay for your own stuff instead of stealing from the needy.

@@Mr-singleforever Leeching off the government and council at a time when people are literally dying early, suffering and going homeless due to a planned lack of resources and the fastest wealth inequality growth in the G7 is evil. United must fund it themselves, without handouts from the public purse, to maintain their integrity. One of the richest men in the UK, a billionaire, lobbying government for public funds for a football stadium... If the money is found from public funds then it demonstrates again how democracy is dead and only the will of the rich & powerful matter in this country. My advice is for United not to have blood on their hands like the Tories do. Spend what they can afford or borrow privately but not at the expense of public services. The Tories have blood on their hands and on their ill gotten gains. If that's what United want also, then expect the truth of it all to be told for decades to come. Hundreds of millions of £s can save and improve a lot of lives in the real world. United are a private institution, registered in the Cayman Islands, floated on Wall St with billionaires as owners and due to these facts should have no right to expect public funds whilst the UK is going backwards, and it's leaders are attacking the poor, working and middle class for personal gain. Take off the blinkers and do what's right. United can have a new or refurbished stadium but not using desperately needed public funds to do it. There's plenty of money in the private sector to utilise.

Nou Camp after rebuild will still be Nou Camp, Santiago Bernabeu after rebuild is still Santiago Bernabeu, we shouldn't move the location of the stadium, just rebuild the whole thing at the same spot, take the break but ensure that the stadium will be what the biggest club deserves, and hope that Glazer gets fucked off in the coming years.
@rufdymond
@rufdymond 16 күн бұрын
We can build a brand new stadium and still call it Old Trafford - the centre spot would literally be about 150m for where it is now, it’s not like we have to move to another site. The stadium we have now is nothing like the one I first went to in 1972. People need to let go - it’s about making great future memories, remember and honour the past, but we need to stop all this sentimental nonsense. People and organisations who refuse to change get left behind, history is full of them.

@@rufdymond exactly, i understand the logistical doubts people have about playing at a temporary place while it is being rebuilt, and match going fans representative should dictate where the temporary spot will be, but people still wanting renovation when its not the best option are not reasonable at all.

@@rufdymondHonestly, building a new stadium next to the existing ground and calling it Old Trafford is the best way to have some sort of 'continuity' so to speak. Athletic Bilbao did exactly that with their stadium and it has worked out perfectly for them.
