Its not correct to say Spurs played at their old stadium until the new one was ready. They spent 18 months playing home games at Wembley. Unless the existing stadium can continue to function while the new one is being bult this will prove a major issue.

Old Traford is iconic stadium it will big sorrow if Mun united change stadium. They can expand one stand and please don't build new stadium. Old stadium is symbol of Mun United, they don't need to change stadium. Old Traford is symbol of one of the best world stadiums.

I would like to see a brand new stadium built and called the new Trafford it's would be about time for a new change at the new Trafford stadium

United needs a brand new arena. Needs to be a landmark and with a minimum capacity of around 90k.

United should act wisely and use the right time. It would now be important to develop plans for a new stadium. A stadium should hold 90,000 spectators so that it remains full even against smaller teams. Any numbers beyond that would not be wise in my opinion. It would be important to be able to use the stadium more in every respect and to make it a place that can be visited every day. adventure golf arcade hall footcourt museum bars megastore small fan football fields and much more. It should be a place where people from Manchester and visitors from all over the world have the opportunity to enjoy the place every day. Everything could be installed under the stands. The roof would have to be closed if desired and the lawn would have to be foldable or extendable to accommodate large events such as concerts or shows to be able to take place. Manchester is such a big brand worldwide if you build something young in the next few years and are patient enough to save money and then add the 2-5 missing star players then it could be something, not the other way around like in the last 10 years ;-) then you should get out plans! I think that such a new building can be implemented for 1 to 1.5 billion and that the stadium name alone, similar to Spotyfy Camp Nou/perhaps Ineos New Trafford, could finance a large part of the stadium over 20 years. I would definitely copy the video display from Krasnodar but there is a ring of glass all around that lets in daylight. Under no circumstances should the stadium from the outside be as ugly and boring as the one in Madrid or the current concepts! Something classic that suits Manchester in the base and as a roof/shell, something towards Munich in 2025/2030 style, something new, illuminated that is visible everywhere. As an MUFC ST holder for 44 years I am totally opposed to the building of a new stadium. That's off the table as far as I am concerned. We need to do what Barca are currently doing.

Needs a rebuild i was at the Liverpool game in the Family Stand and we were getting wet from the leaky roof, it wasnt much but c'mon no one should be getting rained on, the concourse areas are small, the seats are to close together its just old, needs a rebuild nothing else will do, the opportunity is there to build one of the best in the world that will last the next 100 years and beyond.

They need to build a completely new stadium - but build one next door to their current ground....as they have the space to do so. Just as Tottenham did, with their new stadium. This would mean United could stay at their current ground while the new one is being built next to it. It would avoid them having to play elsewhere, if they chose to rebuild the existing stadium. Can you honestly see City saying 'yes' to a ground share for a season!! lol ....besides United fans would refuse to go there for home games. The third option is to seek a site further away, to build a new stadium. But United fans would probably not want this either; so it would make the most sense to build a brand new stadium next door to their current one. But using some government money is a complete no-no. United are rich enough to fund their own new stadium in its entirety. I'm not a United fan, so I would massively object to United using taxpayers money to part-fund their new stadium. This needs to be made crystal clear to United - that they should NOT be given any government money.....even if it's just 10% of total cost. It's still 10% too much.

I wonder how with a 25% stake will Ratcliffe be able to make final decisions regarding ManUnited. He is a minority shareholder and i expect he will experience roadblocks with the current ownership sooner rather than later.

The obvious thing to do is build a new stadium it will not only move Utd forward but also increase match day revenue and they can keep playing at Old Trafford until the new one is built. With no loss of revenue. But knowing united they will probably choose to upgrade and spend yrs doing it and in the long run cost them more with lost match day revenue because united are crap at making decisions.
