No body can enter heaven evenwith a slight stain of sin. That is why, there is purgatory. Jesus died for us to pay for our sins. We have to believe it.

I think you have it backwards @stephenstone8817 ...denying there is a Purgatory is a modern Protestant invention less than 500 years old. It was a belief for 1500 years from the time of the apostles before then. Walls of the Roman catacombs two decades after the resurrection and ascension of Jesus show prayers being offered for persecuted and martyred saints and for forgiveness of their sins so they could enter heaven. Mention of original apostles in some prayers. There are over 20 implied references to Purgatory in the NT bible...just because Protestants twist the meaning to support their false theology doesn't mean there are no references. Early church fathers wrote that verses like 1 Cor 3:13-15 referred to Purgatory. They are far more credible than modern naysaying Protestants trying to de-legitimize the CC. Protestants removed obvious references from the OT bible in the 19th century that were in the apocryphal books. Rather disingenuous, then, to say the idea isn't in the bible just because the WORD isn't. Neither is the word TRINITY or "bible" or "incarnation." It is an extremely lame argument with no evidence to support it other than Protestant denial. From the time of the apostles, it was a belief of the CC because the apostles taught it. Some of Jesus' parables are about Purgatory. Other references: Rev 21:27 (nothing unclean enters heaven....in the 1st century unclean had the connotation of still needing to make reparations or atonement for one's sins in the Jewish mind, even if the sin had been forgiven...the atonement needed was still there) Hebrews 12:23 ("spirits of the righteous made perfect" were perfected in Purgatory) In Matt 19, Jesus tells the rich man if he wants to be saved to keep the commandments, and the man says he does keep them. Then Jesus says if he wants to be PERFECT, to sell all he has, give it to the poor, and come follow Him. "Perfect" meant you were not "unclean" needing more atonement. This will give the rich man the sanctifying graces to avoid being perfected in Purgatory before being saved. The "saved" rich man might have to spend time in Purgatory. Luke 12:41-48 is CLEARLY a parable about heaven , hell, and Purgatory. The good servant goes to heaven, the bad servant goes to hell, but of the remaining two, one deserves a heavy beating to reach heaven, the other a light beating....they had differing needs for atonement but will be saved. There are more verses, but this is enough. The parable of Jesus about the person not getting out of prison until he pays the last penny is about Purgatory, because the entire context of Matt 5:21-26 is about the afterlife and salvation. People in hell will never get out of that prison, no matter how many pennies they pay. People in heaven have no need to pay anything. Those needing purification to be "perfect" have some dues to pay. It is called Purgatory. You can deny it all you want, and you would still be wrong.
