The police should not harass anyone handing out religious literature, regardless of the religion. Their behaviour was disgraceful and completely unwarranted.

Since it was decided by politicians with degrees that all the police, nurses and other professions (where an academic degree is unnecessary) needed a degree is when the slide into authoritarianism started. Police used to be recruited from people with a background in the armed forces or security, but now they're recruited from academic backgrounds. Nurses used to be recruited from the general public who showed compassion and caring abilities, but are now recruited from academic backgrounds. You can work out what the real problem is now. it's academic background and not ability that gains these people employment. The same is happening in the armed forces, and all public sector jobs are subjected to race and ethnic quotas instead of the best person for the job. It's become entrenched and endemic and needs reversing rapidly before society is completely screwed. No wonder Islam is filling the vacuum where common sense has disappeared. Islam is the next big problem we have because it doesn't believe in democracy, freedom to criticise, human rights, women's equal rights or LGBT rights. Governments for at least 25 years have sown the seeds of what we're now harvesting and it's terrifying.

Thank you all for your service including your parents and grandfather. Anybody who joins the military is prepared to protect our country and know they may not come back or they may come back damaged and I have an unlimited supply of respect and admiration for them. They are my heroes. I just wish the people living here would understand why its so important to remember everybody who has fought to give us our freedom whether they made it back or not, everybody who has been ready and willing to fight but thankfully never had to and all those who are currently serving.

The Thin Red Line has become an English language figure of speech for any thinly spread military unit holding firm against attack. The police adopt the thin blue line because they believe they are a small unit up against a large Attack.. The public are seen as the Attackers.
