Shoeing for Pedal Osteitis

In this episode we are helping a horse with pedal osteitis, which is an inflammation of the pedal bone. Follow along to see how I help Denver.
I am a qualified farrier based in Dorset UK. Follow me along for my daily life of maintaining and achieving soundness using a variety of methods of the horses in my care. It is important to note that every horse is different and different approaches need to be taken for different horses.

Nice to see that your own horses are cheeky too! One question - what determines how many nails you put in and where please? I noticed you went to put a nail in the foot then removed it - just curious.

Thanks Hannah. Nail placement wise I like to use as few a nails as I can get away with. Also you don’t want them to be to low as then they are more likely to come loose.
