also why's he tryna sneak a fastball by him with a 1-2 count? that needed to be a down and in slider. he'd already thrown 3 straight fast balls anyway so ohtani had him timed.

Not necessarily, because you got Freeman, who's batting almost .300, right behind him. Walk Shohei and you got Freeman at the plate with zero room for error. I'd say going after Ohtani was a reasonable decision. Try to get him to chase and maybe strike him out or get him to make an out in the field.

Should show the entire pitch sequence….he was down 0-2 and fouled off a pitch (or 2) then got to 1-2 and fouled off another pitch…I knew he was on the pitches, so I had a feeling he’d walk it off
