If Arte the Clown really wanted to keep Ohtani, he would have worked out a contract extension last year. It would have been the bargain of the century. But no. The Angels organization is trash. Trout will fade away into mediocrity, and Ohtani will go on to establish MLB milestones and win championships with the only real team in L.A., the Dodgers.

Jim, you didn't add a THING to the conversation except your genius GUESS Sho won't stay in Anaheim. Way to go Nostrodamus. You already blew it by thinking he would be gone by today, foo. You DO know he refused more money from Seattle, Dodgers and Yankees to play in Anaheim, right? If all he wants to do is WIN and the Angels go DEEP into playoffs with a team loaded with young guys like Zeto, Moniak and Cabbage mixed with a raking Taylor Ward, Moose, Ren-Bros and the big guys then why wouldn't he stay? What "winner" would he go to because frankly only ONE team is a winner - and the rest are losers. Any team he goes to will have to give up STARTERS, not the joke offers of prospects Arte was getting last week thereby reducing the effectiveness of any team he would join EXCEPT the Angels who are buying and not selling. 😎

Money has never been Ohtanis main focus. He picked the Angels because they would allow him to be a two-way player. As well as it not being a huge media team and it being close to Japan. I'm sure they also sold him on being able to play with the GOAT at the time Mike Trout. Your comment makes it sound like he picked the Angels just because he likes them the most and that's it. Also when people talk about "a team that wins" they mean a team that makes the playoffs and has a chance to win it all every year. You can't "win it all" if you're out of the big race at the end of the regular season. Hell, they haven't even got a chance to sniff the Big Race let alone be in it. The only way the Angels keep him in my opinion is if they make the playoffs and go deep in the playoffs. But it's only a chance and not a guarantee.

Ohtani DIDN'T, he said "he wants to win". As of today they are 3 games back of wild card spot with months left? @@cuda426hemi You brought up the money fact as if no one knew that already. And being 3 games back of the wild card is not "winning". A team "wins" when they make the playoffs. Then, they have a chance to "win it all" once they do. It's like saying hey the A's won a game their a "winning team". Everyone knows what people mean when they say an MLB team is a "winning team". So stop trying to move the goalpost. But I'm a stop arguing with you since you're probably 12 since you use emojis while replying to people in youtube comments.

Of course this season is toast. It was never about rescuing this season. It was always about putting on a convincing conversation to Ohtani that they got a shot next year. Just wait. Ohtani will stay. He will stay with his comfort zone, his no pressure employer, his $500M paycheck from Moreno, his friend Trout, and all his other friends on the Angels. Last point - if you stink with Ohtani + Trout, what chance do you have with a bunch of farm boys?
