Had a better night than expected with the amount of long grass. Almost impossible to see anything but the pigs happened to be in the right place at the right time (or wrong place in their case). I’ll leave some links below to the gear we were using if you're interested to check them out. Hope you enjoy the video.

Hi Josh, thanks for the video of you and Ben doing Pest-control and working on the Farm. The expressions on the faces of the Cattle makes me smile when you are encouraging them to Go That Way, "eh, you what"? Some of those Fences and Gates could do with a little TLC, as per one of your earlier vid(s) But then, that's easy for me to say, but it would be good to see some repair ops, especially as following the Fencelines is often how you Track & Trap Ferral Pests.

Yes there are a lot of fences down there that either need replacing or relocating to make mustering easier. 👍 just a matter of getting time to do it and take all our gear down there to do it.

Jeez it's looking nice and green out there. After a hard day of mustering, with nothing but grief and nuisance from Flossy, Daisy and Buttercup, there's nothing like sitting down to nice steak/snags/rissoles and getting some revenge. lol

G'day Josh. Since I watched your reloading segment, my computor has come alive with all of these " septic tank" experts tell us all that their reloading info is the only one you need to watch to get the best results. I reckon to get the best results is to Definitely DON'T watch it. Geez there full of shit.

I notice that its Hereford Cattle where you work. I think that Aberdeen Angus are farmed in Australia as well. Both breeds that i am familiar with in Scotland. Are any Highland Cattle bred in Australia? Possibly the climate would be too warm for them.

Chainsaw operating safety points that might save a cut thigh or skull division exercise (they ooze and sticking plaster is a bit inadequate). When starting: saw held firmly in 2 places, an engine boot when holding like that sends a spinning chain into the side/back of thigh. Right leg kinked over handle (not in crotch), left thigh against powerhead body side & handle held left hand, starter pull operated with right. Sharp end in clear space so it won't grab anything when it starts. It's easy, convenient & safe. The way shown would invite being sacked in logging etc work. For good reason given survivors scars & the odd widow. When using the saw, left hand thumb BELOW & around handle, not across horizontally. A bigger kickback than those shown (so easy to do) will show the saw is much faster & stronger that the user, and last flash before brain division splatter will be "should have worn a helmet." Thumb underneath prevents it getting away from right hand. It's why older saws required hand mitts that made the thumb be positioned under the handle. With bore cut, begin with bar at 45 degrees starting cut with lower side of tip, not the end. Once in enough can straighten it up. Those little kicks become big ones very easily, & saw is quicker & more powerful than the operator. Pedantic to some, but having carried out a couple of ex smartasses or carelessly forgetful it leaves an impression (both were ok about 6 months later when they could walk again in a fashion). The procedures described are in the bush work safety instruction training manual from back when doing that job, and being shown the photos what happens before the ambulance/hearse arrives emphasise it. It can be really difficult to get the layman to comply too, for some reason many think they know better and courts don't exist. There's nothing else that looks quite like a gaping chainsaw bite, maybe a bullet stripe. To remind bulletproof doesn't exist

As a trained operator this is good advice. Especially about the bore cut. Watching that made me wince.
@johnmead8437

@@paulreilly3904It's been taken onboard so mission accomplished. Many would take offence, so Darwin still has his place. Possibly more have been bitten by loose starting and that thumb position, they seem "natural" ways to do it 2 minutes after being told/shown. Nothing like a bit of blood to remind you. The frequency of those hard to train correctly is a challenge. Especially when sacking them on the spot became difficult. Or on farms, where they are the boss & don't accept they are trying to kill you. Often they don't comprehend what a mess a saw makes, & I won't start on felling & log prep, & Aussie Eucalypts
