Update: After making this video I went back and played some more with these pedals. Here are some more thoughts: - The Phase 95 offers the known, mid-focused Phase 90 sound. In normal operation it boosts the volume/the mids a bit, and pushes the guitar front and center (the Script mode helps with the volume boost). - The Deep Phase on the other hand is more like like a Small Stone. It's more "full range" and processes the whole signal. The drawback is that is sounds pretty thick (even with Feedback at 0) and really transforms the guitar. I can totally see the Deep Phase as a "special effect" for certain song parts (intros, bridges) and I can imagine it sounds great on clean guitar, maybe even on accoustic guitar. Personally, I am still fond of the Phase 95 as I don't need that thick of a phaser. Hope this helps!

I prefer the MXR Phase 95 and had no issues on noise or hiss on mine.

The 95 is WAY more useable without that annoying “fat phase hump” that the deep phaser has… I love the classic, simple sounds of the phase 95!

Agreed.MXR buffers are the main reason that I don't use their effects; the noise floor is another common issue with inexpensive Chinese pedals. It's really too bad, because they do make a few bangers. I like this one, but you didn't really comment on the noise or the bypass. Been using the MAE Neck Brace, which is pretty unique take on a Phase Shifter, particularly good at the slow roll.

I just got a deep phase pedal. It’s got a very fat swirling bassy tone, but it’s hard to dial it back to something more subtle, that didn’t sound as muddy. I like my earthquaker devices pedal better, but was wanting a mini phaser for a small travel board. Going to sell the deep phaser and try the ibanez mini phaser instead, since that also has a depth knob so i can dial it back more.

What is the distortion you kick in? It sounds great with the phaser. I actually made it sound better?

I just got the Deep Phase and was trying it out today. Definitely a “less is more” pedal as far as dialing in the settings. The mode switch is funky too as it has that big mid-cycle “whoosh” that kinda presents itself as like a “step” sound.

Phase 95 and it's coming alive...

I just bought an MXR phase 95 and a 99. I love both! And have another 99 in transit. The phase 99 is out of production. So it's kind of a Thrower thing with me. I'm gonna run two 95's or 99's at the same time!! Hope it works.

Let's point out to you that you didn't finish buying the full EVH system. The MXR phase 90 pedal that's built for the EVH system doesn't work properly until ALL the evh pedals are plugged in. You were FOOLISH to buy 1 product out of an electrically exclusive system. These brands aren't your friends.
