Quick video on some new tooling for the shop, we were told that a new load was delivered so went on a seagull run (aka, first seagull to the dump gets the best pickings)
I hope you enjoy and help me with your comments on a couple of items.

I think that 3 hole pattern is for mounting the index plate from a dividing head.

@@outsidescrewball Now you just need a reason to put an indexing plate on a faceplate. Seems like it'd get in the way of the work unless they're working on a ring. I've got an 11" faceplate with degree markings. It's come in handy a few times.

Thanks Chuck. I needed that. Gave me a little motivation to get off my ass. Wintertime blues, I guess.

Jon's Workshop on youtube he is in Scotland. He has a video on a plate for angles. I think that black plate you have might serve the same purpose. Thanks always enjoy.

Came to say the same thing, two pins in the right holes and you have a preset angle on the straight edge.

The three hole pattern on the 1/4" thick plate may be chevrolet camshaft gear and cam bolt spacing?

possible...it is that center hole that keeps me puzzled, of course it is for alignment...thanks for viewing and commenting

Could the three hole plate fit a welding rotary positioner? Like an MK Products Aircrafter or larger?

Hi Chuck here is a serious question for you. Please do not consider this to be criticism or sarcasm. You have a massive amount of equipment and tooling. How do you keep track of everything? Do you keep a written log or an inventory of some sort. There must be some way of keeping track of everything. Thanks for the video.

Hi jimpritz not answering for Chuck but I've been working out of my shop for 40 years and I guess it just comes naturally , people always ask me when I send them to get a tool out of one of my boxes how do I remember it all , the only answer I can give you is I have opened each one of those draws so many times that I can tell you where every tool I have is and what drawer it is in. With that being said I am OCD on neatness and organizations , plus as I said I've used them boxes for over 40 years.

My father had a wall of small gym lockers in his garage filled with assorted tools, fixtures, parts, etc. My mother asked him why he didn’t mark the outside with their contents. He told her that was so when he was looking for something, he would see all of the other things he had forgotten about.

Maybe Chuck works on the principal of "He Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins", If you have one of everything, all you have to do is remember where it is, and going from previous shop tours, Chuck knows where everything is ...

Jim, it is funny how I keep everything and I seem to remember that "piece" in a junk pile....BUT, here is a recent issue, I saw a Starrett protractor that Abom showed, I said I have one of those, couldn't find it, so I assumed I did not own one, bought one on Ebay....yesterday while looking for something I found 2 of the protractors that I just bought...LOL ....Honestly, now at 70, the brain is getting foggy...thanks for viewing and commenting...
