Oh yes Mayberry. I have lived my entire life in Alamance County. I grew up going to Mayberry with my mom when they had one at Cum Park Plaza in Burlington. My daughter also spent a lot of her childhood going to Mayberry with my mom. That one has been closed for years but there is one still open in Burlington across from the City Park in case you didn't know :)

I enjoyed going with you on your grocery shopping I love bean and Bacon soup as well it is so good I like mine with a bologna my Grandma always fixed ham and beans and she always put Bologna and bread on the table so I always have to have it with my soup lol!! Zesta has been sold to Kelloggs a year or so ago & they definitely have changed the recipe. I no longer buy them & go store brand.

Oh my Leslie … Campbells Bean and Bacon is my favorite soup to eat , I love it ! Potato Flakes make great mashed potatoes , we use canned milk and salted butter in them with salt and pepper and they are delicious ! Of course not fresh potatoes.. but very good !

I'm also a Zestas snob and I won't buy them anymore. They have changed something and made them way too salty. They just don't taste good anymore. They need to go back to the old recipe.

Lesley You might want to try potato pearls , they are great to use. I was a cook at Caraway conference center in asheboro n.c. They’re the closest to fresh potatoes. A gallon can will make enough to feed 75 to a hundred people. We used sour cream and butter salt.

Sams Carrie’s them potato pearls . We used US FOOD mostly. I had to retire In 2005 . So much has changed there now.

Idaho Spuds used to be my go-to instant mashed potato flakes; they were the closest tasting to homemade, but of course they stop making them. I agree about the Zesta saltines. I don't know what happened, but they're horrible! I'm sure the boys are going to love their new clothes - so cute!

Same with Zesta. Crumbles badly. The best I've found now is Carlie C's IGA store brand. That's a local store in NC. Don't know if you have one near Asheboro or not.

Zesta has always been my go to brand as well. But about a year ago I noticed that they tasted stale. Even putting them in soup ruined the soup. I have also switched to the store brand. I googled it and it's been noticed across the board. Besides

I have been buying instant potatoes for years at Sam's, there in a red carton, and they are so good , We can't taste the difference, and they also last a very long time. yeah that's the right one of the pototes.

That yogurt is loaded with chemicals. 😆get yourself some fage or Cabot plain whole milk. Mix in pecans with fresh fruit and a drizzle of honey.

If you add some sour cream and some cream cheese to your potato buds no one will know the difference. AND they will not taste either of the add ins. It just makes a big difference. God's blessings.......🥰🥰🥰

I have had to give up sweetened flavored fruit yogurt for Greek plain yogurt due to health needs. It has so much more protein! I still am not a huge fan of Greek yogurt but doing it! I add strawberries or blueberries, frozen or fresh, nuts, and a little drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Getting used to it, and getting less sugar and better protein.

✍Hello Leslie...I was very picky about canned soup as a kid but loved Campbell's Bean with Bacon soup but I think they've definitely changed the recipe cause I don't care for it anymore. I make an easy Bean soup using... 1 can Bush's Northern beans and a can of Great Value northern beans, tablespoon of bacon grease, mash up about 1/2 cup of the Great Value beans, add 1 beef bouillon cube, chop up fine a couple baby carrots, add a sprinkling of minced onion and about a can and a half of water and simmer for about an hour. I used to make a large pot of soup using dried beans but this is so much easier and faster. Sometimes I even add some ham or chopped bacon. Kellogg's must have bought the Keeblers cracker recipe and changed it cause if you look at the box of Keebler Club crackers it now reads Kellogg's. I loved Keebler cookies and crackers but they're not tasting so good now under the Kellogg's brand. I'm not doing much cooking right now cause I just got home from the hospital cause I've had 2 Surgeries, Heart Attack, a Heart Cath and hospitalization to stabilize my BP cause of my age and numerous blockages I'm not a good candidate for Open Heart surgery all within the last 10days. God definitely has been with me as the Great Physician. I know your church dinner is going to be delicious. Good Night😴 God Bless LuvYa! Bye from Ohio🌹

i really enjoy your shopping videos. Lots of times I see things I've never tried before. Like the Bean and Bacon soup. It sounds really good. Definitely will have to try. I'm not a fan of instant potatoes, but adding cream cheese and sour cream does help. The idea of 50/50 sounds good. Have a Blessed rest of the week.

Hi Leslie, I enjoy watching y’all so much. I always make instant potatoes, and I always take them to dinners at church and every always loves them. Of course you have to doctor them up. I actually follow the directions on the box, but I do add extra butter and milk. And I mean at least almost a stick of butter. You can taste as you go. I used to always get the mixer out to do them, but I think it’s so much easier in the pot. I use a big pot and usually do the whole box for church, you may need help stirring I usually have to have my husband help me with that. Hopefully this tip will help. I don’t think you need to mix real potatoes with them. Maybe you should just get a small box and try them at home first. Just offering a suggestion, ❤️

On April 1, 2019, Kellogg announced that it was selling Keebler cookies and other related brands to Ferrero SpA I googled, “why do zests crackers taste different”. It seems complaints began (as far as I can see) around 2019 and run through current . There are many forums, links to click on, where people have been saying the same thing. It’s not new, apparently, and began when the sale took Place, and that was one of the items. I couldn’t find information beyond that, specifically answering if the recipe changed , etc. nothing from the new company or Keebler, addressing it. Just lots of discussion from customers.

Love bean and bacon soup. But my favorite canned soup is Campbell’s clam chowder with Old Bay Seasoning! Delish! I throw in a dash of garlic salt and am in 7th heaven. It must be pretty popular because it’s often out of stock.

My good shopping trip. Thanks for the ride along. Girl you need to make egg bites. 29 grams of protein per to eggs so simple. I can get 18 in my muffin tins. Made them for daughter having chemo or when isn't feeling like cooking breakfast. She requires high protein. Way cheaper than Starbucks. So easy.

How do you know how many people to feed on Wed ? Do you just do an average guess of what you normally get for a Wed service? I’ve been eating salads cute lunch or yogurt triple zero vanilla with berries apple with peanut butter (JIF) good for Bryant first making healthy choices ! Bean & Bacon soup is my very favorite ❤ And, OMGOSH Leslie, you need to try peanut butter spread on a DARK CHOCOLATE candy bar!! It’s so delicious. And dark chocolate is a healthy chocolate, not full of sugar’s. I hope you will give it a try. I buy the large size plain Hersey bar or Aldi has a very good dark chocolate bar. I break 2-3 square’s off, spread with peanut butter and OMGOSH, it’s heavenly 😋😋

Zesta has reduced the amount of salt it uses in the crackers, and they don’t taste good. We quit them too. Congratulations on the new church members. It is a blessing when folks realize they need Jesus and a good church family.

Leslie why don't you make it easier on yourself for these Church lunches or dinners can you put up a sign up sheet that way it's not all on you guys all the time we do a community meal at our church every third Sunday of the month which a lot of our restaurants will donate a lot of the food but on special like Father's Day Mother's Day whatever the community will make the food for us instead of running yourself so ragged

Lunch for new people in churches here do Pizza With The Pastors. I know of at least 2 churches who do this. Easy & something everyone enjoys. I prefer alot of store brands over name brand especially Kroger brands. Love Kroger Saltines. I tried Duke's for the first time recently & the only mayonnaise I have ever tasted both name brand & store brands I didn't like. Talk about Twang & horrible it tasted spoiled/ rancid. I think it would ruin any recipe. I really tried but regret buying even a small jar I'm stuck with. Not all southern people like Duke's. One You Tube family from Georgia are loyal to Kraft.

I'm glad you quit doing that Optiva diet. Seemed like that diet plan had hardly any protein and was nutrient deficient, highly processed, and very expensive.

Oh, the protein and nutrients were great on it, but the soy began to bother my stomach, plus it was expensive. But it truly was one of the best things I ever tried. Just wasn't something I could do for the rest of my life.
