I heard A.B. say in an interview that not only did this actually happen, but quite a number of times. One time when they were in another state, he and Selena went to Macy's and a security guard followed them, and so she turns around towards the guy and says, "Can I help you!? We’re not going to steal anything, I got an American Express Gold Card!" 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻😄😄😄

@kolajas89 Because she's like the rest of us. She knows exactly how it feels to struggle, be broke, and work hard to support your family. At a young age, her dad lost his job and had to move to her uncle's house. They relied on music just to get by and put food on the table. She also went through racial profiling as shown in his scene.

As we’re leaving and they’re back to waiting for someone else we just say loudly “Thank youuu!” And you can see it in their face the reaction they have, while the salesman that was actually professional towards us got a huge commission in that brief moment. When we went in I noticed a clerk staring at us when we entered but didn’t bother to help us. Then they rushed over and started catering to my dad. People suck.

I LOVE the scene in that store. Same thing happened to my teenaged dad back in the 1950s -- he went into a nice department store to buy some dress shoes with $200 his father had given him for that purpose. He asked a sales clerk where the shoes were and the clerk was like, "Oh, I don't think you'd be interested." Dad pulled out his wad of cash and said, "Well, I guess I'll spend this at Filene's, then." And walked out. Just because someone is young or doesn't look like they have money doesn't mean anything. Racism might have played a role, but I think it was probably more ageism -- people assume young people don't have money. Reminds me of they time i took my ex shopping at Victoria secert. I had a vectoria secret credit card. To use it you needed your id. When i showed my work permit which is an id they girl cashing us out didnt allow it cause she said thats not an id? I asked for manager and when the manager came she asked whats the problem the girl said " he's trnya pay with a green card." There was a long line behind us and everyone gave me and my girl a weird look. My girl looked at the floor and said lets just leave i dont want anything from here. Thats what really pissed me off. I told manager i can pay with cash or my debit card it doesnt matter? Manager apologized and gave us a free blanket and free hoodie. Idk if its cause i was mexican or cause we were in interracial couple? My girl was Nigerian. I dont get why some people hate Hispanics we just come here to work and take care of our family we dont want problems.

Hey I work there and we did accept work permits but there was a point where they changed the system and we needed to scan and the green card wouldn’t work anymore which is why they didn’t allow u but they changed it back up. It’s annoying because they change the system a lot and don’t notify customers and then it looks bad on us but really even when we called the customer service they would tell us it had to be a state ID

If someone walks in there (no matter the color) and asks to look at/purchase an item, no shit it’s because they can afford it. Mind your own business.
