The tool industry is definitely pushing the limits of the 1/2" anvil. This new Milwaukee 2967 M18 FUEL High Torque Impact Wrench paired with the new M18 FORGE battery is loosening fasteners set to over 2,000 ft-lbs. We ruined a brand new socket, mushrooming out the 1/2" anvil square in the socket. The new Milwaukee High Torque Impact Wrench also includes the Tri-LED that surrounds the socket and fastener. Look for these to hit the shelves in October. #milwaukeetool #review #impactwrench

Literally everyone other than snap on have made incredible progress with their cordless tools in the last 5-7 years. I even hear good things about walmart/hart tools and harbor freight "better" lines. Snap on still looks like it came out of the nicad era, has the absolute worst warranty of any cordless tool and costs 5× more than dewalt or milwaukee.

Literally, electric tools are just as good as air tools if not better cause you're not carrying around a hose with you. Especially for just everyday type of work.... electric tools are where its at. My dad always gets mad because I take electric tools to work on things over his air tools all day.

What a friggn BEAST. Rusted suspension fasteners on medium duty trucks have left the chat and kudos to the big red army's engineers for giving mechanics the tool they need that'll leave their wrists tingling and smiles on their faces. We're on board as soon as this King Kong of ugga-duggas is available. Those new Forge batteries are lighter than 12HD batteries so yeah, sign us up for those puppies also.

That's an impressive machine! I bought a mid-torque a couple of years ago and I'm very happy with it. I've dismantled my entire front suspension with my mid-torque. I even removed the axle nut without a problem. This high torque is an absolute beast and way overpowered for domestic vehicles. But I can see how someone who works with large commercial or agricultural vehicles might want something like this. Thanks for the review!

I have the same 2967 model at work, and I have to say, it outperforms all my coworker's air impact wrenches. We take apart large automotive dies that have a lot of fasteners, and this puppy handles everything we throw at it. I use the Forge battery and keep the setting on number 3 to allow for max power and torque. Cordless is the way to go for sure, and I couldn't be happier every time I use it.

A few years ago I was a Dewalt guy. I started having problems with my impact driver causing my battery housings to crack with moderate use. I tried to use their " warranty " only to be disappointed that they didn't consider my issue a problem. They wouldn't warranty my batteries or my impact. So, I switched to Milwaukee. Haven't regretted doing so since. I love my Milwaukee cordless power tools ! The battery isolator is a great innovation. I haven't kept up with Dewalt if they have a similar thing. Doesn't matter. After my experience with trying to use their " warranty ", I would never even consider switching back. I am totally happy with Milwaukee and what they're doing for the industry.

what an amazing torque output this tool has. What's more impressive is the 5Ah battery could get it way up there to almost 2000 ft/lbs. In the past I've criticized Milwaukee for going cheap with "old tech 18650 cell batteries" on their high torque kits, but if the tool was designed to provide optimal torque even with those batteries I guess I'm ok with that decision.
@uninvestigated
@uninvestigated 11 ай бұрын
18650 batteries have been in the vape world for a long time. They come a variety of different capacities and outputs. Just because newer 21700 27000 batteries have more capacity doesn't mean they have more output. They are only bigger and possibly slightly more output to capacity ratio. There are some insane 18650 batteries out there with extremely high safe output but very limited capacity. Now when we get into hobby grade rc style batteries like the forge, i bet we see them not last as long as the mass produced 18650 cap style batteries.

I am so glad I have waited to pull the trigger on the half- inch drive cordless tools. Dewalt did a great job stepping up to the plate and getting with times. However, it sure took them long enough. As far as snap-on goes, I still love their hand tools and quality. Again, as I stated in previous tests. The performance of their cordless tools just doesn't measure up for what their price point is. What you and your team demonstrated with the new milwaukee, on top of the new forge battery. Now that's just sheer ludicrous! Thank you for what you and your team do. I still have yet to be disappointed in what milwaukee offers as far as their cordless tech goes!

I love milwaukee, but get a brand new untorqued nut and bolt and torque it straight to 2400lbs and see if it'll remove it. Retorquing bolts starts having the same effect as putting an extension on a torque wrench because the bolt starts stretching. So just as torquing with an extention you may hit that 2400 on the torque but because of the stretch it's really not 2400 on the nut

as a heavy truck tech, ive used the two previous versions of these guns professionally, they work just fine for what i need, but after my experience with the last one, im gonna wait until this one comes out in 3/4" drive, i usually break my 33mm socket every few month thanks to it and the snap on guy rarely has them on the truck, so i end up sourcing them from cheapo locations and they hold up for a couple of wheel jobs at best, im hoping that by jumping up in drive size, breaking sockets will be less of a thing.

I still have the little known 28v Milwaukee impact wrench from probably 13 years ago. I bought it when I worked at a junkyard and I got tired of using a star to take rusty lug nuts. That thing would wring off the stud if they didn't start to turn but if they did turn but were hard to turn the whole way it would struggle. All the overmolding is peeling off of The Thing even though I haven't touched it in years and it looked good when I stopped using it because the battery died and are too expensive to replace.

@@engineer_alv if the new dewalt beats the Milwaukee by 200 ft lbs the Milwaukee is still going to be extremely impressive due to the size of the Milwaukee and the weight

Just got one thanks for the excellent review. Got a free deep well socket set with it. I'm new to working on cars and if I had known I would get a free deep socket set I might have got this sooner but thats ok I assume it never hurts to have duplicate sockets because this looks like it has a lot of torque.

It would be great if you tested the extensions, to know how much torque it takes away from the impact wrenches.

This new impact wrench looks amazing and I can’t wait to eventually get my hands on one. However I’m rather annoyed at the way Milwaukee announced the new super charger. Comparing it to the old rapid instead of old super charger, calling the lack of full power simultaneous charging a feature/benefit and so on. Kinda rubbed me wrong. Like they thought we weren’t smart enough to see through their advertising BS. So what I want to know is how does the new super charger compare to the old super charger?

Tim, Do you think Milwaukee will make a second generation of the M12 Stubby adding similar features such as the triple led light ring, more power, and kitting it with an XC5.0 High Output battery pack?
