if they had not told the judge that then they would have won because the plaintiff was NOT involved in either the deal or the picking up of the item . that employee could have been fired for stealing an item that was unrelated to this one so the judge made an assumption . goes to show u that being honest in court does not always work in your favor . thats why in court , cops and lawyers do nothing but LIE .

The defendant is off her damn rocker... She admits that she has absolutely no reason to believe that the plaintiff received the $300 deposit. On top of that, the person they handed the money to is a known thief and was literally fired for stealing from them. But yet, she's still upset and doesn't understand why the company didn't give her credit for paying the $300, even tho the payment clearly was never received and was stolen by their employee. Her logic here completely baffles me...

Holy cow. So the father, the one who made the deal isn't there. The employee they struck the deal with is no longer there, and the secretary who is doing all the talking wasn't even working for the company when the deal was made????? Why are these people in court? Nobody present had anything to do with the deal. This is just bizarre.

At lot of older contractors/trades/mechanics were/are pretty anti paper work, partly due they didn't have a heap of education and don't understand how book keeping works or even really the reason for it. The other reason is if you run part/most of our business off the books, the taxman doesn't get a look in. I don't doubt the gentlemen involved in the original deal made it cash, which wasn't going to have sales tax or any other paper work which could be traced. Hence why the old guy who runs he AC charger supply business isn't allowed to appear on TV as it prime evidence if the federal or state IRS decides to audit the business. Its very common in small businesses run by older guys to operate this way, and really it only was a issue for them (its always been a problem legally) if one of the parties is dishonest, as the mike the mechanic was.

What Doug said is easier said than done. They always say......"if they don't give you a receipt, you don't give them the money" BUT a receipt does not exist until the money has been paid. The money has to be paid first, then the receipt is handed over. They could pretend to be about to give you the receipt- then back out.

all phones have video now , so just take a video of yourself giving the cash to the seller . also send a text to the seller that day stating that u need a receipt now that u paid them the cash and they will either ignore the text or they will confirm your statement , either way it looks better for u if u ever go to court .

Our landlord try to play that trick on us she refuses to write a receipt because we would not give her the cash we laid out on the table...( She neglected to give one the month before) she told my son "keep it" then tried to illegally file on me in court !!!

Had similar situation once, ended pretty quick when got mobile out and start recording the cash, landlord and me repeating request for a receipt. Strangely they suddenly dropped the objection when they realised there'd be a record of them refusing to follow the law. Your landlord was wanting to not declare your rent payments as income to avoid tax. Its big warning sign you landlord is not to be trusted and other things with rented place are/or will be problems In future. If you have option to move I get out as soon as can. If they breaking rules around rent records, there's going to be a lot else with place they haven't follow the rules over.

Its also amazing to me how many businesses are on here especially ones that have been in business a long time, for not following basic business practices. I really need to start my own business cause if these fools can be successful then i can too. EVERY invoice a business receives should be examined for accuracy and if the owner or manager is too busy to do it then they need to hire an accountant. Had these people said something when they got the first invoice with a discrepancy it probably wouldn't have ended up in court. But when you receive multiple invoices for something and then complain about the price it doesn't look good for you at all.

@@LoveChild71 lol.. I was just goofing around because I saw those comments.. Broccoli would be fantastic. Something else that is amazing. Chop thick slices of Brussel sprouts, chop thin slices of garlic, onions, add olive oil, chilly pepper flakes (if you don’t like that much heat replace with regular pepper), salt, olive oil and parmigiana and roast in the oven until crispy! My kids who hated them regularly ate these like chips

@@lorij3786 yum! I love brussel sprouts! I just had them the other night. I quickly sauteed (I forgot the word for that - when you just heat the pan for a few minutes to bust the flavor out) onion, garlic and the 3 colors of bell peppers. I cut the brussel sprouts in half, tossed them in olive oil, stirred in the onion/pepper/garlic, then put it in the oven, high heat for about 15 mins....I also like to use sea salt, pepper and old bay seasoning on everything and I put turmeric in it as well. After I took it out of the oven, I put some butter on top. It was fabulous!.... thanks for your recipe.....
