She was the victim in all of that, and she's the one being basically punished because the defendants are buddy-buddy with the cops, and the judge wouldn't even award her the amount she was quoted to build a new mailbox pillar. The new pillar will cost 1300.00, she had to pay a 500.00 deductible on her car and a 50.00 deductible on the rental car, and the judge only awarded 1500.00. So this debacle cost the plaintiff time, aggravation, a brand new car that's now been wrecked, and $350.00.

Because you're suppose to get multiple estimates in a lawsuit to ensure that you're not going to the best of the best of the best that overcharges. When I had to take someone to small claims for crashing into a fence with their car, I got three estimates; one was 400, one was 700, and one was 1600. The 1600 was insanely high and the 400 was dangerously low. Yea, it's extra work for the victim to do but it's to ensure someone doesn't take the highest estimate they can find.

You're supposed to get atleast 2 different estimates not just 1.. its always been like that.. yes she has a right to be angry atkeast he wasn't drunk oe under influence of drugs

@jayburris6252 1300 is reasonable but I think it's just best practice to get multiple estimates what's stopping someone from going to court with an estimate of 5000 to fix that should they be awarded the 5k off of one estimate
