Sometimes you need to get in close and a big hammer with a long handle won't fit. This is why I like to keep a modified hammer on hand. This one turned out perfectly.

Octaginiz! In the beginning I thought you said antaiginize. I thought, hey, I antaiginize my tools, not ToolScouter. This morning I have had Rollerbald, ScoutCrafter, and ToolScouter. What a morning. Great video. Love these types of tool rehabs.

Scoutcrafter will be jealous, especially in red! Very nice job. That will be a great user hammer. You can pound the fire out of something.

You’re right. Once in a while, you need to pound the fire out of something. This thing should do it. Yes, with this hammer I tip my hat as a salute to ScoutCrafter. I do like his color of red. Thanks for coming by and have a great weekend.

Love the improvised drift! I've got tons of drifts and punches but can never seem to put my hands on just the right one when I need it! Lol

Yes, having the right drift will make a difference. In many cases, I keep all kinds of different size rods and bolts, and will use them in projects like this.

Also, I just noticed your bolt-on corner vise. I have only seen the screw-type mounts. Can you tell us a bit more about it?
@toolscouter
@toolscouter 19 күн бұрын
Yes, that is a Stanley 700. I don’t know a whole lot about it, a friend of mine gave it to me. When he gave it to me, he already had the MDF board on the inside of the jaws to keep from scratching whatever you are working on. It sat in my shed for a long time because I presumed it was strictly for picture frames. I saw somebody else using it for another application and I said, “why don’t I do that?” So I slapped it on that workbench. Sorry I can’t tell you anything more about it. Thanks so much for your visit and have a great weekend.

Do you make your own wedges!
@toolscouter
@toolscouter 20 күн бұрын
Yes, in many cases I do. I have a whole bunch of scrap poplar and it works well as wedges. In this case, it was a left over from another project. It seem to work well.
