It's time to move on, the city isn't going to do anything , unfortunately that area is dying. Move to a better part of town, or suburbs.

Columbus is an extremely affordable city compared to most others. Those “unaffordable” apartments are full as soon as they open. The people causing the problems in this video aren’t on the streets because rent is high. They couldn’t keep a home if it was $100 a month. Choices have consequences.

I think pricing us out and moving illegal immigrants, “tourists”, Texans and Californians etc in might be your best hope after all because real Ohioans and Columbus natives would not stand for what they have planned for this and other cities. Unfortunately people with survival extinct and common sense who could by any means move to the suburbs or exurbs have already done that and we don’t have any voting power to help the city. Oh well, you reap what you sow. New builds going up everywhere. If you can’t see they’re replacing us countrywide I don’t know what to tell you 🤷‍♂️ before they bring in the droves of “newcomers” they’re making us homeless first hoping we exterminate ourselves with fentanyl. It happened like that in cali, denver, Portland, Seattle, NYC, etc etc it’s nothing new and written all over the walls of these new luxury apartments and master plan McMansion communities.

It's not the businesses responsibility to house these people.

When the government helps everybody else overseas and don't help their own people. That's messed up, And a lot of people in prison when they get out of jail that's going to have more crime.

Its crazy how they play the real estate game with everyone. Short North was always a problem. Moving people out and raising property sky high so only one demographic can afford it. Over charge them but never truly cleaning up the area. Do yall know Short North history?

Is the Short North all that Columbus has to offer? There needs to be a news channel that covers only the precious Short North.

Come bum us Ohio. A bum on every block. So why don't the TV producers have a show? "Adopt a bum" the way they do for cats and dogs.

I'm a busker in the Short North. It is the best place in the city to interact with people. That resource is as valuable to the homeless and panhandlers as it is to the buisnesses. Putting cops on the beat would solve MOST of the problem. Businesses that can aford special duty cops, don't have these problems. A few cops walking that one mile stretch and/or bike cops actually patrolling, instead of doing traffic stops, would solve almost the whole problem. Nefarious characters will go away, everyone will change their behaviour or get the help they need if they can't. I don't know how many people are on the sidewalk on most nights, but it must be enough for the city to do a little more than run a cruiser up the street every hour. The city generates a lot of direct revenue from writing traffic tickets in crime free areas, but making this neighborhood safe and pleasant generates tax revenue that more than justifies the expense. I also think that sweeping the sidewalk and gutter in front of every business makes the storefront seem well attended and not a good place to squat. I LOVE COLUMBUS!!! Thank you, GOOD LUCK! 🥰🎶🪕🎵🥳

Well, it's as simple as anything America needs to do their job upon helping those who are less fortunate after all aren't we in one of the richest countries in the world????. Just the same old game being played back and forth 🕛🔄🧠

They need to get sober first. Those homes would have spray paint all over the walls with holes punched into everything and trash every square inch. Drug dealers need locked up and these addicts need a replacement that wont bring them back to crack heroin meth ect. Not a fan of alcohol either. It's a downer for the already depressed.
