I’m 5’2 and I was offered this surgery for free when I was 16 (I live in Canada) because I fucked my growth plates up when I broke my ankle at football. They told me there was a chance I wouldn’t be able to workout or play sports again and your risk of arthritis increases drastically. Sometimes I think that I should’ve done it because women tend to write me off immediately. However, I started dieting and exercising regularly and that all changed. You don’t need surgery to be confident, you just need to be dedicated to something and good at it (that will come later). Fuck what people think, if I can walk around at 5’2 and not care you can most definitely be 5’6. Go to the gym, eat clean, be healthy and take care of your body, you only get one.

@@prettymamita Both surgeries are bad yes I definitely agree. However if want them to be less insecure about it you should be against women shaming men for their height. In the same way you would be against men who shame a womens body. We need to have equal standards with what we shouldn't tolerate when it comes to this stuff, which we don't these days. We should be more equal with what we frown down on. Because in society its generally more acceptable to ridicule a mans height than a womans weight, without much backlash like for an example compare Lizzo to Kevin hart and you will see a big difference despite Lizzo being a plus size women people are generally more respectful (well at least before the concerning allegations and people started to send hate to her). Yet Kevin hart is treated like a walking joke.

If she teases you because you're not her first choice. 100% drop her and find someone better. If it's harmless I would say, maybe it's okay but some people need help getting over their insecurities so even harmless teasing would be hurting them.

As a 5'8 dude that has been genuinely dreaming about the surgery, thanks for this video! My biggest problem with it is the fact that I would somewhere within myself feel like I caved in to some really effed up expectations and attitudes in our society. And how could I tell my kids someday to be okay with themselves as they are when I cut my own legs to meet a height expectation. And other big problem is that with all these surgeries that are becoming more normalised as you said, that is where the standard and expectation is shifting. There will always be an average height, we will only be raising it artificially and collectively f***ing ourselves over by doing so. We are not changing our genetics, only our appearances. So our kids will have to deal with the stupid society and expectations we built, to be more "superhuman" than our genetics. The way a new generation always rebels agains the values of the previous one, I am willing to make a prediction right now. Once we in the coming decades reach a point where all this is waaayy too much, normalised and expected, and we can change waaayy more things about ourselves, then we will eventually have a generational pushback to all this finally. That will be the rebellion of a new generation who don't want to carry on with this nonsense. Be natural will mean something again. Maybe we will have it sooner and in a milder way if we come to our senses about all this stuff before things go way out of hand.

this reminds me of a story from south korea I believe or japan. a woman had lots of plastic surgery to look beautiful and she married a man. they had a child and the child came out looking the way the wife used to. not a very cute baby and so the husband learned of the plastic surgery and sued his wife for tricking him and he actually won the case. pretty crazy but I think people should just try to accept themselves the way they are and find the person who accepts them as them as well. I understand it can help with confidence but confidence is also something you can gain from self reflection. you just have to want to gain it. there truly are no shortcuts

I'm 5.7" 31 yo male not really happy about it (height) even worse when I'm barely 65kg despite lifting especially when I'm around literal highschool kids where I feel like I'M the kid but because of my experience with the vision surgery I can't fathom accepting something as drastic as this. Tried insoles wasn't practical, tried so hard to improve my body naturally through training and diet but sometimes your genetics are just too strong a barrier so I now have to just accept that I can't meet the adult manly traits and be in an early teen's body forever. The one saving grace of all this though is that I so far always look younger than anyone even those biologically younger than me whenever I meet with ppl xD I have inherited alopecia sadly so I'm trying hard to treat my receding hairline, I can't lose the one advantage I have :l Life is hard but I believe that serenity and satisfaction come from many other things notably healthy relationships & body.

The thing about the "being their true self".. the fact is, yea, he had the means to get to the version of himself he wanted to be, but if he doesn't adress the fact that these insecurities are a part of him, he's just avoiding a problem that is gonna re-appear many times in many forms, not only insecurities in "height" but inferiority complexes in other things... what saddens me is that the majority of ppl who go through these things leaves those problems like solved.. but they aren't

Not necessarily. It’s not the height that they are insecure about. The insecurity comes from how other people treat them. If other people didn’t treat him any differently, he wouldn’t have problems with his height. Now that he’s taller, people treat him better so the complex goes away.

Something you see happen a lot in people who start getting plastic surgery, is that it essentially becomes an addiction. They saw something they perceived as wrong and surgery fixed it, so they begin to keep seeing something wrong that they think surgery can fix. if the reason you felt like you needed that surgery doesn't get resolved, then the surgery may only delay that feeling until you decide you need more surgeries to fix more imperfections.

Which you can state no it’s not , yet deep down stating it’s not is an insecurity of times changing…. So stating insecurities is a backwards way of thinking if anything you gotta ask.. why is he doing this, what compelled him to do it, what standards does his environment enforce …..

I'm 5'4" and found out about this surgery about 14yrs ago. It's cheaper to get it done in Thailand as well, about half the price. Reason I didn't go through with it was the chance of re-injury. I'm pretty active, was in the Army, run everyday, skydive, snowboard, ski, skate, anything with a bit of controlled chaos. I'm 40 now and I still heal pretty quick. Im not fine with my height, but I also wouldn't want a reduced lifestyle, and enjoyment I get out of it. Also idk my family tends to date taller women, lol. Uncles are shorter than me, and there wives are all closer to 6ft. My long term GF is 5'7".

Perfect response dude what people consider insecure and silly is completely arbitrary and the more these surgeries are perfected the arguments against customizing your body will disappear. Even for the elderly why walk around with a cane if you can enhance your spine or knees why suffer blurry vision if you can fix your eyes easily. After medical purposes are normal aesthetics come next imagine when we unlock gene manipulation and biochemistry someone with a weak jaw could literal have liquid bone fill in their skull to fix a recessed jaw or reactivate the paruitary gland causing people to grow a few inches or stimulate fat growth in specific parts of the body like breasts. You would have organic breast augmentation indistinguishable from natural breasts people aren't ready for a true cyberpunk future even if it's not dystopian.

Problem is most women these days to seem to want to be in love. Atleast thats what i feel like as a young male living in the west. When dating i always ran into women with ridiculous standard. wanted tall, rich men with their own mortgages and cars etc. Lucky for me during lockdowns in the uk i started learning to speak russian and met a lovely russian girl whos now my fiancee, shes signficantly taller then me by about 4 inches and we have never let size get in the way. Love isnt about the aesthetic things its about the heart and soul (cringey i know, but very true). I was always attracted to guys 5’5 - 5’9 never made fun of their height. My ex would talk about getting this surgery, then get offended when I would say I’d leave him, but the way I saw it, you are basically going to age yourself, I’ll have to support you in your recovery, then if we end up together as elders I’m going to have to take care of you when you’re broken bones start to rear their ugly beads. Or…. You’re going to get the surgery, I support you, then leave me, because if I find you attractive as you are, then what are you trying to attract. I think I’m over dating short guys not because I’m not into them, but the insecurities and short man syndrome, you can love or compliment them out of it.

i'm 5'4 tall, so naturally i looked into this surgery awhile ago. i was pretty close to making an appointment and getting the surgery done, but ultimately i decided against it. idc about the money, but i just cant afford to be a cripple for 6 to 9 months and i dont want to. the recovery, the pain meds, the health risks. also i was very concerned about bone strength/durability and general mobility in the longrun. idk for sure, but i kinda doubt you'll ever be as durable and mobile/flexible as before. oftentimes pro athletes/fighters get send straight into retirement from a broken leg injury, even tho they get the best medical treatment possible. leg injuries end careers all the time. definitely aint no joke. like this man in the video, he's now almost 6" taller than me, but probably still less of a threat than ever before. i'd imagine one strong low kick to the knee area and he's going down. the pain alone would probably end him mentally right away, plus potentially bone takes damage instantly. tho i'm not sure, if that's actually the case. hopefully not. the thought of loosing durability alone scares me quite a bit actually.

Violence will be met with years of rehab in a safety obsessed society. It's not so much of an actual ability to protect, its just the appearance that matters more. In a future society where crispr exists- and people like you will quite literally be looked down upon as a sin against humanity. Your genetics- who you are- will not be tolerated. But hey, go on and virtue signal about how you are so good at being yourself when the world ultimately hates you for who you are. Natural sexual selection. Social media subliminal messaging (everyone looks hot) on top of technology working against you? This world chooses to be fake with its makeup and excessive skin care, styles, anything to fraud your genetics and claim what shouldn't be yours in God's eyes. Yet you choose to die on this hill.
