Victor An - The Hero of Russia!

Funny how in this event, Viktor Ahn(Ahn Hyun Soo) and Lee Ho Suk just stay apart from each other after they finish 1st and 2nd just because they're from different factions. Viktor just circles around the rink once, then quietly walks inside, takes off his skates, and then leaves. But when you watch 2014 Sochi event where Viktor wins 1st place and Vladimir Grigorev wins 2nd, they're both skating together, holding up Russian flag, proud of each other. Only Koreans can't stand their own compatriot doing better than them. I saw this year's snowboarding event where US sweep the medals gold/silver/bronze, and silver and bronze medalists are still happy and excited that they won.

girolle01 Actually, I've been following Viktor Ahn(Ahn Hyun Soo) since 2006. If you knew anything, Viktor Ahn's father slapped the shit out of KSU vice president for trying to sabotage Ahn from winning gold medals in 2006. Ever wondered why Viktor Ahn defected away to Russia? It's because of the issues he had between KSU who heavily favor one faction over the other and Ahn was in the faction that was not in favor of KSU. Just because they're domestic rivals, they shouldn't be happy for each other even if they're competing for the same country? Give me a break. It's such a sore loser mentality to do. Michelle Kwan and Tara Lipinski were both top dogs to compete for the gold and domestic rivals. Even when Tara won, Michelle Kwan was happy. Even when Sarah Hughes won in 2002, Michelle was happy. You think Ryan Lochte, Matt Grevers, Aaron Peirsol, Larsen Jensen, and many great American swimmers were all acting like sore losers like Lee Ho Suk and rest of KSU members when Michael Phelps was winning all the gold medals? They were happy and proud of each other for winning it for the US. They're also domestic rivals with different coaches, different clubs. In 2014, for Freestyle Skiing, USA swept all 3 medals in Men's Slopestyle. Joss Christensen, Gus Kenworthy, and Nick Goepper all won gold, silver, and bronze respectively. They were from different clubs and are domestic rivals against each other. Did they act like sore losers? No. They were proud of bringing all the medals possible in that event to the US and display the proud red, white and blue. They took pictures with each other and congratulating each other instead of acting like sore losers like Lee Ho Suk and KSU members.

girolle01 Yes, everybody wants to win the gold medal. It's what all athletes train for 4 years for. However, if they're defeated, they would rather be defeated by their compatriot than losing it to different country's athletes. You think Vladimir Grigorev acts like a sore loser and feels bad about losing to Viktor Ahn? He was happy that even if he didn't win gold, VIktor did at least and they both brought top two medals for Russia. What Korean Skating Union and its favored members were doing was such a sore loser behavior to display to the world.

Lee Ho Suk and Ahn Hyun Soo used to be friends who even shared same room until two different university clubs and factions split them apart. KSU can suck a dick, for all I care. Even as Korean-American myself, I hope Korea gets raped in men short track AGAIN, just like 2014 but this time, in their own territory of Pyeongchang, South Korea. It'll be as satisfying as watching Brazil lose to Germany 7-1 last year in their own territory.

girolle01 It's such a sad thing that Korea has every potential and skills to sweep all the medals in short track but their greediness of their corrupted union and intolerance of their compatriots' success is pulling the country down big time. All those medals in short track that Russia won last year, could've been Korea's if it wasn't for KSU(Korean Skating Union). Also look at Korea's soccer team last year. KFA was such a corrupted organization that they were only hiring Korean coaches and Korean coach Hong Myung Bo only favored and selected his close associates and his students that he liked the most rather than skills. Result? Not a single win in the world cup last year. tie against Russia, losses to Algeria and Belgium. Selecting benchwarming loser fucks like Park Chu Young, shitty goalkeeper like Jung Sung Ryong who should've been kicked out after 2010, selecting shitty defenders like Yun Suk Young as starting defenders over Bundesliga's starting defender of FSV Mainz 05 Park Joo Ho. Back in 2000s, Ji Sung Park was on verge of getting kicked out of the squad because he wasn't well known and lot of ppl and KFA were pressuring Guus Hiddink to exclude him from the squad. Ji Sung Park was a nobody who didn't have any wealth and strong background that he decided to play in Japan to make a living until Hiddink recognized his skills and brought him over.

its a valid point but just to add, in that 2014 event, Viktor Ahn was the favorite and much more accomplished skater compared to Vladimir. So the expectation was for Viktor Ahn to win gold and Vladimir to be happy with a silver and a 1-2 Russia finish.
