Alienware is taking the term "laptop" more seriously by making a brave decision: making their laptop slightly less powerful, so it can actually fit in your backpack and not look so crazy in a coffee shop. With a reasonable price point and solid performance, can Alex find a reason to dislike the M16 R2?

U all know this? Segue vs Segway Segue is occasionally found spelled segway, even in edited text. There are two likely reasons for this: the familiar suffix -way (as seen in driveway and runway) seems to agree with the notion of a segue as a "path" along which something transitions; and the existence of the homophone Segway as a trade name for an American company that produces electric transportation devices. The standard spelling segue comes from the use of the word's Italian root as a direction in music, indicating a transition without interruption.

As someone whos been through 2 high end alienware laptops (one was a warranty replacement that took over 3 months of talking to support after they broke mine). Dont. These things dont last long, are super loud, super hot and dont actually perform well. I have an m17 r2 sitting on a chair non functional because it bricked itself randomly one day, paid $200+ for a new mobo and they broke it again when they did the installation, eventually magic smoke came out and it and when i looked inside i saw whoever did the mobo replacement wrenched on stuff, stripped screws and used a damage mobo. It conveniently broke a month after i got it back meaning no warranty. Never again. Biggest upside was the keyboard, loved that thing

I had an M15x I think it's called, for a fair while, i7, started with GTX-260 GPU, later upgraded to HD 5870 or so. But I'd only recommend it if one looks for essentially a transportable computer, not a laptop. You can't use something like mine as a laptop, you need wall power and a desk to use it. And a forklift truck to transport it. At minimum you are not going to transport anything else at the same time. But it was never loud or hot and is even today quite a fast computer. $200 for a mobo is not bad, it being so soon after replacement sounds like you would have had a potential dispute to bring to court if nothing else.

It's really nice that you also measured it in kilograms (international standard), not all ppl know how much 1 pound is :D Good video

"That's a MASSIVE power adapter". Sir! My Alienware Area51M has TWO bricks (to be connected at the same time!), 240 AND 320W, each DOUBLE the size of the one you called MASSIVE. Lol.

Am i tripping or at 8:00 the cpu clock speed is 9167mhz? Shouldn’t it be maxing at 4800mhz? not sure whats the actual turbo clock speed of core ultra 7 155H but that definitely shouldn’t be that high though

Looks like a laptop from like 5 years ago. I can't believe the tiny trackpad, and the RGB around it looks tacky. Don't see how it competes at all with Lenovo Legion 7i or Asus Zephyrus G16 which are also slim/premium gaming laptops for roughly the same price with better screens, better looks/build quality, better speakers, better trackpad, etc.

I dont feel comfortable with where temps (and power consumption) have gone nowadays. Watching some repair channels seem to support that, they show a lot of broken gpus and gaming notebooks. On my desktops i spend a lot of time to keep them well under the spec temps and power limits, and i try to the same with my only (and last) gaming notebook.

I'm at least glad the Alienware team gave us upgradeable ram, Wi-Fi & storage unlike the XPS team.

I love watching LTT, but I bought an Alienware Area 51m after Alex gave it a glowing review and it was one of the worst purchases of my life.
