Depend on what you compare it to, that keyboard isn't really expensive. It also has the "gaming wireless" (no idea if the "gaming 2.4Ghz" makes any difference compared to normal 2.4 Ghz since I use cable when using my keyboard with PC and Bluetooth when using it with the phone) and a touch bar (kinda innovative in some senses, may not be practical)

In light of the latest Linux challenge, I would love to see info about the software compatibility of peripherals. Namely, that it's always been hot garbage and needs to be reverse engineered every time. I think a big name like LTT could coerce manufacturers to at least release specs on the protocol. Security aside, this is where WebUSB could shine; imagine going to their website to configure your keyboard instead of needing to install their software to change the colors once.

I got the regular Falchion with MX red switches and it's a brilliant keyboard. Battery life is insanely good, the cover isn't a gimmick and it holds the keyboard in place really well, and prevents it from getting dirty underneath (using it as a portable laptop keyboard). I personally didn't install Asus' software because I don't like the 100 services they run in the background, but you don't really have to install it as you can use a lot of the features without the software. The manual has the key shortcuts for all the stuff you need such as macros and lighting etc

@@Len_M. Nope, my desktop (which has an rog strix motherboard) has 32gb and my laptop has 16gb of ram, and it's not really about the memory usage - but the hit on performance. If your PC has a lot of bloatware that's running in the background and you've used it for a few years, try running a benchmark like 3dmark's Timespy, and do a before and after a fresh install of Windows, with only drivers installed (or compare against people with similar specs to you who have done a fresh install) These programs will use some of your CPU by doing stuff you're unaware of while running in the background - like updating themselves or polling all kinds of data. I'd love my computers to function as intended for as long as possible so I avoid installing anything that's unnecessary

For someone who is one of the tens of keyboard enthusiast as out there this is a pretty damn good keyboard. The build quality is really solid and the switches are pretty good though they do have a bit of a scratchy texture to them like your regular cherry switch. Out the box as far as non-custom keyboards go I’d probably put this third after the ducky one two mini line and keychron k6, a bit of grease and you have a very nice keyboard on your hands. Only thing I have a complaint about is the lack of stabilisers for the larger keys outside of the space bar, they seem like a minor thing but they make a big difference to the typing experience, though for the “gamer” market its not the biggest of deals

For the price of an aluminum keyboard with a rotary encoder, sough facing LEDs, standard keykaps and more premium feel you can have a plastic barely customisable board with a janky feature at best, non standard keykaps, north facing LEDs... Hmm. Is it just me or are the big companies making the worst shit for your money? Now, I understand that most of y'all don't share in my custom keyboard hobby, but legitimately give it a try. My first ever "custom" keyboard was Yenkee Panzer with aftermaket/lubed/modded stabs, diy foam between plate and pcb, dampening silicone pour and Kailh Pro Purple switches. One of the best thing for the money in my personal opinion, still works like a charm sounds way better than most of prebuild keyboards that are many the price of mine and felt super amazing to build.

Been using this keyboard for two weeks. I'm switching from a full size keyboard (corsair k100) simply because I want a clean wireless setup for my desk. My other option are the blackwidow V3 or Logitech G915 but the blackwidow v3 has a poor battery life and the G915 come up with low profile abs keycaps which i don't like. Took me a couple days to get used with the small key layout. There are a few issue with this keyboard though, first the wireless dongle. Whenever I plug it to the back of my PC, I often experience lag/delay issue but whenever I plug it to my front io panel, it never happened. So there's definitely something that easily disturbing the signal. Could be a disaster when this happened when you play a competitive online games. The 2nd problem for this keyboard is the keycaps. It use a standard size except the space bar, enter key, right shift and backspace. They are shorter than standard keycaps. The us layout come with double shot PBT so it's very durable but I hear some other region come with the shiny abs keycaps. That will be a nightmare after couple weeks use and it start become shiny and you can't replace some of the keycaps. Next is how the keyboard behave. Whenever I turn off my PC, I usually let the keyboard switch to turn on because it goes to sleep mode and will connect automatically when i turn on the PC anyway. But if i do this, sometimes the software and the keyboard didn't sync up properly. The keyboard won't show up in the software, it tell you to make sure the keyboard connected. By simply turning it off for 5 secs and turn it on again, the keyboard then will show up in the software. Because of this, I always flip the switch whenever I turn off my PC. Minor problem but it could be bother some people. Overall I'm quite happy with this keyboard, it looks cool and the build quality is really nice, especially the case.

The problem is that you have to look down to your keyboard to perform any Shortcut because there is no tactical feedback which is often slower then doing it in the ui
@JohnEusebioToronto

It wasn’t bad but often the shortcuts took longer than standard media keys on the F row. Adjusting the volume and controlling video playback took more pressed, in most use cases. But the flexibility is very useful.

i was full razer until i recently bought this, i had 3 blackwidow keyboards which all failed due to multiple issues with lighting, keys breaking or multi media making the keybard un usable, this keyboard is insanely good, and at 50 % off during black friday was a steal, this is way higher quality, and ive only needed to charge it twice since buying it! glad to see that its getting more time in the lime light!

Too many people don’t understand that the OEMs like Razer, Asus, Corsair, etc., don’t even make decent boards, let alone good ones. While Corsair, Steelseries, and Asus are trying to step up their game, I would soomer recommend a Keychron Q1, KBD67 Lite, or a cheap Skyloong GK hotswap board. There are just so many better options out there…
@grainer3878
@grainer3878 2 жыл бұрын
but many people also dont care or havent been exposed to "enthuasiast" boards of courses an enthusiast board that costs about the same with lubed switches, cut stabs, foam insert, etc. as these oem boards would be better but the average consumer/gamer doesnt really dont care and they just want a nice keyboard they can just pickup from a local store. these boards you listd arent always as easily purchasable because they are either always out of stock or its just inconvenient to buy on their website.
@lyyre_mzr

@@grainer3878 Can't speak on the KDB67 Lite but both GK Series Boards (Like the GK61 and GK64) as well as the Keychron Q Series (including Q1) are available on Amazon of all places. Can't get easier to buy than that and are in-stock items. At the very least they could get a decent keyboard for cheaper than these Gamer Keyboards and have better compatibility for things such as keycap sets or different key switches.
@tams805

And those are all keyboards that you can't just pick up anywhere. Also, the customer service for them can be atrocious, with little room for recourse, and those company's quality control can be lacking at times.

@lyyre_mzr
@lyyre_mzr 2 жыл бұрын
@@tams805 seriously? While it’s not as easy as swinging by a Best Buy, if you’re in North America or Europe online retailers such as Amazon is pretty common now a-days. Additionally the last big name mechanical keyboard was a Corsair and it was atrocious for the 90 or so USD I paid for it. Would regularly be locked up at start-up, lights in the default RGB and non responsive, until I reached back and unplugged then replugged the cable. Additionally that keyboard was a fixed cable so I couldn’t exactly replace the cable when it failed or change lengths to suit my needs. And that problem with the lockups were with two of them bought about a year apart from each other. Not really a good indicator of quality control or build quality. My next mechanical after that was a Magicforce, and outside of the Mini-USB port it has been rock solid reliable over the course of 3.5 years and still have it even as I’ve acquired other keyboards.

I've had my rog falchion for months and I've loved it! Edit: got the reds and they feel great. I have actually disabled the touch bar - to me it was more of a gimmac since my speakers have a dial, and I'm happy with pause play being fn+ key. I wanted the keyboard for a great keyboard and it's really lived up to it. It's expensive as hell, and I wish they did one without the touch bar and knock 40-50 off- that I feel would be a great in between. It's expensive, but I was going to build my own and ended up double the price and didn't have the time to do it :') happier with this that my logitech g513 carbon with blue gx, infact it replaced my g513 carbon :)
