In this video, I decided to finally break and get the Shorty GP from Radiant Cycles. I mean, a whole new exhaust slip on for UNDER $100?!? How could I not get this just to see if it is as good as everyone says it is. Join me as I go through the install process, get unique sound bite & decibel readings of the stock exhaust, no slip on, and of the Shorty GP, and discuss some of the frustrations that I had during this install video. You won’t want to miss the results as I was truly surprised what the final result was!

Cant wait to get a Honda Rebel 500 as my first bike next year! If I was single, I'd get it now in a heartbeat, but saving for a house at the same time.

cool. when i got mine for the 2019 Rebel 500, mine didn't come with the baffle, had to order it separate. i also used the same clamp ring, but i put mine so the bolt and nut are on the back side out of view. without the baffle, it is just a straight pipe. the baffle quiets it a little, but still sounds good. looks better than stock.

Great points! I probably should rotate the clamp around and have it more out of view. But I totally agree, I think it still sounds really great with the baffle in. Ride safe✌️

Have fun with the Shorty GP, but keep your stock exhaust safe. You might need it sooner than you think...and for the love of God put a towel under that thing the next time you leave it on the ground. :)) . Waiting for my all black Rebel 500 to arrive in the showrooms as we speak. Cheers.

Oh for sure! For now, I am keeping all of the stock parts that I pull off. Great advice, haha I probably should have had a towel. At least I didn’t throw it across the parking lot like life of Burch haha. That’s awesome, congratulations!! Ride safe ✌️

Great itming, looking at swopping out the exhaust on mine, One question, hows the ears when rididng, is it to loud?

Great question, it’s pretty loud. I wear ear plugs and noticed a difference right away when I started riding. The people I ride with told me it is louder for sure and they can hear my bike when we ride, but it’s not too loud to where it’s making their ears hurt.

Hey man I have a 2023 Honda rebel 500 and I swear for the life of me I can’t get it tight enough to where it’ll stay on any ideas ?

Good question, I think this happened to life of Burch and it was just a bad product that needed to be shipped back. It’s almost like they provided the wrong bracket. You could always take it to a hardware store and see if you can find one that is slightly tighter? Good luck!

What OD size did you order? There are so many to choose from on their website.

I’m not sure, I bought mine from Amazon that was specifically listed for the Honda Rebel. The listing is 43mm OD, link in the description!

I LITERALLY just put this exact exhaust on my bike not even 10 mins ago. WARNING: DO NOT over tighten the bolt on that thing, i didnt even tighten mine down all that much and the bolt sheered right off. I went and bought a C-clamp to replace it and it works just fine, but be warned though.

Hi buddy, just order mine, saw lot of reviews that the baffle didn't came with the muffler. Hope mine it's inside the box like yours. Amazing review, thank you for details and install.

so if i dont have access in my country to the shorty gp, id be fine with no exhaust at all. maybe even weld a muffler in there

Pretty much, although some people might not like the sound with no slip on at all. Ride safe!

I feel like it turned out pretty good, unfortunately parallel twins just don’t have that same sound as v twins do 😞

@@evergreenmoto Well as long as you like it. It is very popular. I think no exhaust sounds closest to a Harley. But if you find comfort in it being more safe, anything for confidence. I Quote a famous biker, you control thr bike, it doesn't control you. Ed

Sort of, there is a noticeable difference in person but not major, a little harder to show it over video. The baffle makes a difference also.

Not a lot of difference in decibels , but the sound changed dramatically 👍 . I need to keep mine stock because I have Bluetooth in my helmet and it makes it easier to listen to the gospel. Yes! It adds such a different sound, it gives it that deep rumble that sound pretty nice! Good point, I can actually still hear my Sena pretty well with this exhaust unless I’m really ringing it out.
