As a newcomer to shotgun shooting this was an excellent presentation. It fully explains the action, purpose and designation of chokes, which is a complex subject but does so in a very clear and helpful manner.

Excellent teaching video for the beginner and even more experienced shotgunners. The visual representation of the different constrictions of chokes was very clear and easy to understand. Two important statements stood out for me and are often assumed everybody knows it: 1) Never change a choke on a loaded gun; 2) Always pattern each choke you plan to use over increasing distances to see which choke is most effective for the chosen target, shell, and the distance, otherwise you’re just relying on luck. One more thing, I am not a “choke junkie“ because I change my chokes (which are a great invention); I paid for them, I patterned them, so might as well use them.

This was a great presentation and not only informative but educational as well! I'm a longtime shotgun shooter, and I'm in a sporting clays shoot on Saturday. We've been practicing with both skeet and trap and experimenting with my Beretta with different choke tubes. The only thing you didn't touch on was "shot string" which of course gets longer with tighter choke constrictions. Very nicely done video! As an aside, I do a lot of slug shooting and hunting with both Foster type slugs and sabots, so a rifled choke tube seems to work well for me getting 2" groups at 50 yards with my 12 GA JC Higgins model 20. My SAVAGE 220 of course has a fully rifled barrel and prefers sabot loads only. Thanks for sharing!
