Man, thats crazy. Mine has worked really well so far. I haven't had any issues. I guess time will tell if it works or not. Glad that they were able to refund you. And I agree that it is over priced. Significantly overpriced. I'm sure they do manipulate the comments but I think all companies do that now. I don't read reviews on their own websites for any product. I always go to the forums or online opinion. Hopefully with the money you got back you can buy the tacticam and all the batteries and accessories you'll need with the refunded money.

I would agree that the video quality on the shot kam seems to be quite a bit nicer. I think that the tactacam features are nicer and it definitely has a more robust software with a better app.

Alright, so I read this, and looked into it. Unfortunately the solo Xtreme also has the 2.5 hour removable battery according to the user manual. It's on page 5. tactacam.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/16635166577051/Solo_Xtreme_MAN-v2.pdf. It seems like another even more affordable option though if you don't care about the 4k or the 2.5k as it films in hd 1080p and it's only 199.99!

That is true. And it applies to first responders as well. So does tactacam. I was able to buy my shotkam using the first responder discount as a paramedic. Both tactacam and shotkam have substantial discounts for military, LE, fire and EMS. Thanks for mentioning that!

Yep. I've covered that in a comment reply already. You're correct though. It can be adjusted. It just sucks to adjust it. The standby mode is an option. But I stand by my review. You would think it tacticam wanted to advertise the better camera they would tout these two things. Which they do not. I read through the entire user manual for that tactacam 6.0 and the shotgun mode isn't even described in the manual. It's not an issue of doing my research it's a failure on tactacams part to actually let you know what modes they have.

@@vencent14 it's the mode you would use for waterfowl hunting. It's constantly on and when you shoot it goes back and records up to the time limit you set.

You are correct. The red dot is adjustable. I learned that after I had made the video. So that's my fault. I will say that adjusting the red dot to your point of impact as not as easy though. On the tacticam you have to look at the screen and adjust it on the phone. And with the camera under the shotgun, making sure the gun doesn't move and adjusting the dot with the phone, watching it in tactical screen and keeping the gun in the same spot is challenging. It Is not as easy as the shotkam. The shotkam you adjust right on the phone screen showing exactly where it's pointing. I'm terms of battery life, you can buy that many batteries, thars true. But swapping batteries is more burdensome. It's more gear to carry, something to lose, and each time you do need to change the battery, you are breaking the waterproof seal which is not as condusive when you're hunting in water or with weather. And, for my personal hunting, a shake awake feature is so so so nice. Not having to hit a button and worry about my camera is good for me. As I'm already running my other camera, my dog, and calling. The last thing I need to do is hit another button and then hoping the shots happen before it auto times out and shuts off and then have to hit the button again. Also, it records no matter what on the tactacam. That can potentially cause you to have to weed through more and longer footage for your shots. Where shotkam only saves the recorded footage if it senses recoil. So it makes it clean and easier to work with. The shotkam is just significantly more convenient to use in several different ways. The price point is too high. I agree. But I guess I was willing to pay that to not have to worry nearly as much as I would with the tactacam. I really appreciate your comment.
