In today's video, I give you 3 Pro level shooting drills to help you instantly make more shots!
These simple basketball shooting hacks are super easy to implement for players at every level from pro level players to kids who are just learning how to play basketball. The best thing about these drills are that you can do them all without a hoop, so you can easily do them wherever you may be. By implementing these tips into your game you can almost immediately skyrocket your shooting percentage!
My first drill is one that I tell all my players that are serious about taking their scoring and shooting to the next level, and that is "wall shooting". I love wall shooting for a lot of reasons, but the main reason I like this shooting drill is because it forces you to use a higher arc angle. By forcing you to shoot the ball up the wall it can really help with your fluidity as a shooter as well as making sure you are optimizing the arc of your jump shot.
My second shooting drill is to help you with shot preparation and accuracy! This drill is called line shooting, basically, the main focus in this drill is to use what we learned doing wall shooting to translate over to line shooting in terms of getting the arc angle high so the ball bounces straight back up to you. I also love this drill because it forces you to prepare your body early as the ball is coming down this shot readiness is super important to getting a quicker shot. This is something we see a lot of the best shooters in the world implement into their game guys like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. The number one reason why they rarely go into a shooting slump is that they do a phenomenal job of keeping their arc angle optimized. This is what makes line shooting a phenomenal drill!
My third shooting drill to help you instantly make more shots is "seated form shooting" this drill is a variation from a super popular old shooting drill "TV shooting". The reason why I like the variation to seated form shooting is that once again we are going to be really optimizing your arc angle. Arc is incredibly important when shooting a jump shot so tv shooting really is a great way to optimize your shooting arc while you are sitting down.
The last drill that I absolutely love is a combination of two of my favorite drills triple tap ladders and line shooting. I call this drill "frogger shooting" it is great for getting prepared quickly and optimizing your fluidity on your shot! If you look at the best shooters in the NBA guys like James Harden and Stephen Curry they all shoot one motion shot this is so important to being a good shooter because you are able to shoot with much more fluidity. Fluidity on your shot is something that helps in a lot of different ways it helps you by generating more power and by helping get your shot off much quicker.
