Cliff, regarding the difference in money-numbers in the song: Tom's saying that he has $20-million in liquid assets but his total assets are worth over 30-million. In other words he has about $10-million in investments that's constantly making money for him on interest and dividends. Nova tacitly references this in "Hey You" when she talks about the money tree in one of her verses. If they wanted to, they could retire and live just off of the interest and dividends from their investments, but they love being music and video artists too much to want to quit. Together, they built an empire starting from one song (Dear Rappers) written on Tom's phone while they were living in poverty, worked hard, invested wisely, and now they can do any damn thing they want to do. Pay attention to the advancements in Nova's videography over the years as she could afford more equipment. She started out with one average camera for Dear Rappers, and now she's able to film and edit this mini-movie for Tom's video along with having Jarred handle special-effects. She's currently teaching Jenna (Tom's sister) about videography, so Jenna will start doing some filming too if she already hasn't started. Look at the equipment that used for filming this video. High-quality cameras, vehicle mounted cameras, and even drone footage. In a way, Nova has become a one-woman Hollywood studio, and their build up of wealth has a lot to do with her being able to have the equipment they have now. The reason why Tom did a hard money-flex in this song is because he wanted to kill the internet lies about his parents being rich, along with all the other lies being said about him. We know how crap in our society goes. People root for the underdog, and then when the underdog succeeds jealous haters come out of the woodwork trying to tear them down. These days they love to use the internet to spread rumors and lies, like saying that Tom's parents financed his success and Tom is a member of the Illuminati. Tom just did a rap-ballad of all bars and no choruses to bitch-slap the teeth out of the mouths of his lying haters, while at the same time encouraging others to never give up so they can transform their lives like he and Nova have.
