There was a time in high school where all I wanted was to be kissed, but after a while I just realized that it would cause emotional attachment and decided to wait. I actually wanted to wait until marriage to have my first kiss, but the idea of doing that in front of a bunch of people is somewhat terrifying, so now I'm thinking I'll either stick with that or wait until I get engaged, but I trust that'll be a conversation between my future hubs and I!

vivacioushannah Doing it in front of an audience is ridiculously scary, but I encourage you to wait until marriage for your first kiss. The way I see it is kissing is technically oral intimacy which is forbidden until marriage. Forgoing all the physical stuff helps you to get to focus on who your partner is as a person and not how he touches you or how his kisses make you feel. And for the first-kiss-at-the-altar-stuff, you can totes not do it there. I don't think anyone is entitled to seeing such a special and private moment of yours. I once saw a wedding where the bride and groom skipped the kiss part entirely and had their first one alone. In my opinion it is very special and you don't have to share it with a whole bunch of other people if you don't want to. It's your wedding.

Since I was like 12, I've wanted to save my first kiss until marriage (I know it's not for everyone). I heard that it can be awkward. I love feeling like I'm not alone. I like your (Paul and Morgan)'s idea of waiting until he asked your dad. And I love the idea of a forehead kiss in front of everyone. What a cute idea.

I've been dating my boyfriend for 3 years and we're waiting until marriage to have sex but I do think it's kind of silly to wait until marriage to kiss. It's really easy for us to stop ourselves before things get too out of hand. But I guess not everyone has that control. We did set very important boundaries before we ever kissed so I think that helped a lot.

To say things like "it's really easy for us to stop ourselves" or "I can control myself" is an extremely slippery slope. That is where the devil gets people, when they start to trust their own strength too much. Waiting is not silly at all when you can't be sure if you're going to be with the person for the rest of your life. Things happen; I've seen so many people get as far as engagement, and everyone thought it was so serious and that they would get married. And then things were broken off. You never know what could happen; it's best to wait until the wedding ring is on the finger.

I would agree,he's not saying you'd be remorseful over kissing someone, but I would also say that I personally do have remorse over kissing the first person I kissed, because it ended up not meaning anything and I did it because I was tired of being single. I wish I had waited. Was is sex? Nahhh, not by a long shot! Nor is it a huuuuuuge remorse or shame, but do I wish I hadn't done it? Yeah.

I know right. I didn’t feel shit when I kissed a guy who I’d went on a few dates with. That’s when we both realized we kinda didn’t have any chemistry, we both went our separate ways no hard feelings. Don’t regret it and I certainly wasn’t all “emotional” because I’m a female or some shit, Jesus Christ.

This really rubs me wrong, my husband and I dated for 4 years before we got married we kissed made out whatever you want to call it for those four years and not once did we have sex until our wedding night, so saying that it just doesn’t work like that just simply isn’t true. You and your partner have to be on that same understanding and level. I don’t think all Christians should be put under one umbrella 🤔

I think you kind of missed their point. It seemed to me they were just saying that you should do what you and your partner are comfortable with. They recommended not kissing someone until your relationship has developed a little more, or maybe even wait until you know you're going to marry them for assurance ig. Either way we each have different limits and boundaries to prevent us from sinning, so although it's great you and your husband made it 4 years kissing without it leading to other things, that simply isn't the case for everyone. They didn't say that kissing is evil and to wait eternity and a day, they just gave their own experiences.

Kissing is not necessarily sexual. I've had makeout sessions that were completely out of the emotions that I had for that person and not lust. It's a way to express your adoration for them. I can't imagine not kissing someone passionately before marriage and then going straight to full on sex the day of. It's not natural. And not kissing because it might cause more heartache after a breakup? Grow up! Heart breaks are part of being human. If you're constantly guarding yourself that much, you're gonna have no idea how to handle a bad heartbreak when you have no control over it. This video is full of judgmental opinions. No one loses their value or worth as a person or a spouse by how many people they've kissed!

O livia well they didn't say that someone who hasn't been kissing a lot of different people is a better person than the other... I think (my opinion) they just meant that don't do that because you might regret it and it's not always a good idea. Do it when you are sure it IS good

Its still your choice, this is for people like me that want advice and are looking for smart ways that may stop the urge from being so strong to wanting to have sex outside of marriage. If you listened correctly they said that kissing is emotional and leads to sexual things. You have to listen with the intention of gaining information or seeing a different outlook of things rather than finding flaws and blowing them up as if all people weren't made to have their own opinions. Now this video was based off of their own experience so its factual to them and they felt the need to share in order to help someone else out. On top of all that heart breaks are normal, yes we all may deal with them, but God might not always want a person to have to go through heartbreaks relationally (with a significant other). We could go through heartbreaks in other ways. Generally if a person knows that they can avoid and have common sense not to go through it, they wouldn't. Hope you actually learned something from the video sus because everybody is not perfect.

I totally agree with you and I do realize I came off pretty strong, I actually watch some of their videos with the sole purpose of listening to another perspective. I can listen, and not agree. If this is what works for them, or for other people then great. I just have a problem with what they say coming off as judgmental and implying that as Christians, we should all be this prude. They also come off as assuming that all people are super sexual and have problems with lust, which is not true. I think its great advice to not go into kissing someone right when you first start dating, but to encourage waiting until marriage is extreme imo. There is middle ground. Maybe they should make a video about how to set boundaries with your SO that isn't "Let's not be physically intimate at all ever until marriage" cause that's more practical.
@lumi7971

O livia and I personally don't think that waiting to kiss until marriage is kinda stupid. Just because you kinda "need" the "sparkle and butterflies" to your relationship so it can work (not in all relationships) and if you don't have it you're just like kind of friends. I think sex can be such an important thing in a relationship and couples should be sure they have that sparkle. That's why you shouldn't always be with your friends like you never are just with your partner

Kissing isn’t bad. Like they said, but it CAN lead to temptation which can lead to sin over time, Aka having sex before marriage. It’s more or less a way of protecting our purity and not allowing ourselves to even go there. God says not to have sex before marriage. Yes that IS in the Bible. So it would be unwise to get as close to that border of sin as possible so we aren’t tempted. Again kissing isn’t bad, in the Bible it even speaks of kissing as good such as welcoming someone with a kiss, but it CAN lead to temptation which is what they are saying here. As a Christian it’s easy to fall into the trap of temptation so it’s important to guard our hearts and minds in our actions and thoughts. ❤️

"I don't want to know she's kissed numerous guys. Like, that hurts me." It's one thing to say you want to save kissing as a special connection with someone; it's quite another to claim you're actually 'hurt' by the thought of a woman kissing people before she kissed you. It's just being melodramatic and it's the start of the slippery slope to 'Biblical womanhood' and the notion that it's women's fault when men's lustful thoughts turn into bad actions. I wish Christians would spend more time making videos about stuff that's REALLY hurtful, like child poverty, and systemic racism and the sexual abuse in the Quiverfull movement. That stuff REALLY hurts people - most of them children.

I totally get your point, and I understand that most religious people think the small things are important. That's okay. But there seem to be a zillion Christian KZfaqrs doing zillions of videos about really ridiculous nitpicky stuff like "Should Christians ever kiss on the left side of the cheek before marriage?" or "Are short-sleeved shirts acceptable for modest Christian women?" and hardly any of these good Christians addressing the big New Testament directives. Spending 4 hours a day making videos about modest necklines seems awfully frivolous when you could be spending that time volunteering at a food bank, or caring for a housebound senior, or raising money for a Yemeni family who are slowly starving to death in the famine in Yemen. I find myself increasingly frustrated with people who claim that their walk with god is the biggest thing in their life and yet seem to have missed the big picture of Christ and the New Testament.

I will never feel comfortable about the whole ‘asking for your father/parents permission’ to marry someone. It feels really possessive and unhealthy to me, like your body and life belongs to your parents, not yourself. The same goes with ‘I didn’t want my future wife to have kissed any one else.’ It’s like someone is ‘tainted’ or something because they aren’t ‘all for you’ which honestly again, sounds sooo possessive. Isn’t it amazing enough that someone proclaims their love for you and wants to commit to marriage and spending your lives together? I feel like judging someone’s past is the most unchristian thing ever. I don’t judge anyone for saving intimacy or anything for marriage, every relationship is different, just the whole possessive aspect of a few of your points really disturb me.

As a Christian, the asking the father/parents for permission comes from respect for the family. And if your family is Christian and have a bad feeling about the guy, chances are he's not the right person for you. I will not voice judgement on people's past, but if the guy has had 15 girlfriends beforehand it's going to weigh on your mind
@emhansford1997
@emhansford1997 5 жыл бұрын
Brianna Webber the thing about asking permission sets us back soooo many centuries. It views women as ‘property.’ In fact, the real message behind marriage was just that, a family selling off their daughter for social/political/money reasons. As a culture, I believe we have come such a long way and yet unhealthy customs such as that seem to stick, a lot of people doing so for religious purposes. I guess it’s a matter of opinion wether or not you believe a woman has a right to her own body and life choices. I know that doesn’t align with most of the Christian faith, as women are seen and followers, second class and not as worthy as a man.
@briannawebber9406

@@emhansford1997 Girl you are missing my point. I see what you are saying and I don't believe women, particularly Christian women, are seen as property or not in command of their own body and choices. It is simply out of respect for your parents from both you and the guy who wants to marry you that he still feels like he should ask. Sure it came from not great traditions (believe me, I don't like the idea of being sold off etc), but modern Christian men don't think like that. Thanks for talking with me about this though. It's interesting to hear others' opinions

@@briannawebber9406 I understand what you mean. There's nothing wrong with showing respect. I think it becomes disturbing when you analyze the cultural and social implications behind that (sexism, women seen as property and control of female sexuality). If a man "feels like" he "somehow has to" ask her girlfriend's hand to her parents, both of them and the family are a victim of this mentality. As long as a woman is happy that her future husband needs to ask for her father's permission to marry her, there's no problem. Back in the days it wasn't a choice. I respect your prospective, and I understand that you care about your family and you want to respect them. But there's something more to think about :why is the man that have to ask the woman's hand to her father? And not the woman to the man's mother? And again: why is always the woman that have to choose the "right guy" as if the guys were promiscuous and dangerous, and the girls pure and virgin, only willing to get married and settle down? (I think that if you do some research it is not hard to find an answer.) ^^

They shared it because they care to those people out there who's looking directions on the path of being pure as woman/man. Paul I respect you for keeping your standards. You're inspiring me. Keep running the race. Morgan thank you for being supportive and willing to learn and understand your 'other half' (even if at first your did not understand). Being tolerant and willing to learn from each other takes away selfishness and conceit and open the door to 'oneness' (of mind) which shows unconditional love. That is because we have to love and accept people for what they choose to be even if we do not agree will all they say or do. May the Lord continue to bless your relationship and your channel and all your endeavors. We are having fun and laughing 'cause you guys are hilarious in your videos but the work that you do helps a lot of people who tune (in including myself). Stay woke

This video is full of wisdom, and I can see that you both fully believe it. It is true, once you kiss someone, there is that line that you cross. Once over it you aren't able to go back to the light feeling and friend stage, especially if you do not have a close friendship yet. It's harder to get to know someone once you are involved physically because naturally, that is all your bodies want to do. It's in our DNA, so that is very wise. Thank you for being real. God bless you both, love watching your channel :)

Kissing, hugging, prolonged eye contact, and other gestures are all signs of intimacy, connection, and soul ties. In my case, not doing them does not seem to make a great deal of difference, as the emotional connection is still there. However, if things do not work out, not only is there immense heartbreak over that person no longer being there, but now there are memories to contend with. That is pain I would not wish on anyone. Thank you for shedding light on this topic.

Personally, I'm a Christian woman and know that I am just as strong as I think if I have the Lord's strength on my side. I was in a situation back in high school where we were kissing and we could have gone all the way if we both wanted to since we were alone. I stopped him when he tried to take some clothes off and I explained that it wasn't that I didn't find him attractive (because it's important that your partner knows that you're attracted to them), but that I wasn't ready to go forward. He was 100% respectful of where I was coming from. Looking back, if he wasn't ok with the fact that I wasn't ready, it would have lead to us breaking up. To this day, I don't regret waiting and I still am waiting for marriage. That said, I don't think that kissing always has to lead to sex. It's up to you to make your intentions known.

To each his own but I couldn't wait until marriage for a kiss. I crave that kind of intimacy. Without it my boyfriend would feel like he's just a friend. Besides, the bible doesn't even say abstain from kissing until you're married, and it doesn't say you'll be heart broken after breaking up because you kissed. It's sex that creates soul ties, not kissing.....

Biblically peaking, yes - It is ok to kiss before marriage. The Bible speaks more about taking additional wives than it does on limiting kissing. Worse yet, marriage in the OT was more about selling off daughters than it was actual love. If your daughter was harmed, the man would have to pay and buy your daughter as though he was marrying her. Daughters were sources of income. People weren't marrying for love back then. Now we get to the psychological aspect of this debate. It is more complex here. People should kiss if they want to have that connection with an individual. This means the choice is theirs and so are the consequences. Even if someone has a breakup without kissing, it can be emotional. There are so many factors that go in to this and kissing alone will not make you endlessly attached to someone. Long story short, kiss if you want to. The Bible does not limit you here.

There is definitely wisdom to what you are saying. I come from a very, very conservative background where we aren't allowed to sit next to or touch guys who aren't related to us or aren't our husband. Being very sensitive, I totally understand how any little touch can excite a courting couple and can easily lead to something more. Understanding this, I totally agree that these things should be avoided until marriage. People think it's crazy, but you're staying separate in order to keep pure and please G-d.

I feel like it's less about heartbreak although that does factor into it. I think it's about being pure and saving kissing and sex for marriage so it is only with the one person you will marry. And I think it should wait until marriage itself bc it's more special and bc in case something happens between you before you get married, you won't have kissed someone you're not married to. If that makes sense lolol

Okay- It is VERY TRUE that kissing accelerates the emotional and physical affection towards both parties!!! When i asked my mom how she didn't see certain traits (she doesn't like in my dad)before marrying him, she said he didn't behave that way when they were dating. That got me thinking, if we're doing physical stuff and it accelerates things between us, i am going to be blindsided by the red flags that would have popped up if i was taking the time to study you. Again, its a personal choice, but that's why we have the Bible to guide us and people like Paul and Morgan to inspire us with their stories!!❤

My friends are trying to find me a boyfriend. 😂😂😂 but I really wanna wait, God's purpose is perfect, even if the World says that it's alright... we need more people that talk about it, and say «Hey, World, Hey, Culture, maybe you're not right». Loved all the honesty in this video, guys, and the way you emphasized that the physical progression is something that's God-given and so isn't sinful; what's sinful is when the progression is happening outside of God's boundaries (now I'm just gonna start using "progression" in my everyday speech to talk about this kinda stuff and no one's gonna understand what I'm saying hahaha) I completely agree with you guys!! Kristen from Girl Defined made a good point when she said that she waited to kiss her husband instead of kissing other guys she'd just dated because she didn't want to compare their kisses to his and I thought that was a really good point as well.

Paul and Morgan Geez, why put unnecessary guilt upon yourself? Yes, you kissed guys before, so freaking what?? Paul should love you and you should feel loved and appreciated for WHO YOU ARE. You are your experiences. Don’t ever let yourself or Paul make you feel guilty about any of this. You did NOTHING wrong for crying out loud. If he wants to feel self righteous because he decided not to live life, that’s his prerogative. Religion feeds on guilt to keep people in it. That’s how cults do it. Why add to it??

Always love watching your videos. I never thought of kissing as a big deal, but I think it would be wise to think about who your kissing before you do. What if you dont want to kiss them and they do? Then don't kiss them. I've been in relationships where I felt I had to to make them happy. I finally came to terms that I need to stop doing that and if I don't feel like doing that then I won't. But I do see a lot of wisdom to it too.

Just found y’all. Loving it, it’s like water in the desert.... and then it’s hurtful at times to watch. I think feeling hurt from a woman’s past (that she kissed a lot of men) is a little bigger of a flaw as a Christian than whether you wait to kiss her as your fiancé. Yeah, you can’t help but be hurt by her past (if it’s something that bothers you), but gosh the focus is so twisted. You highlight your discomfort as if you’re more concerned with whether you kiss her as your fiancé than whether you can let go of her past before she met you? What is Christianity all about again? I’m a single mom, and I’m starting to feel like if I take your advice... which I have been for years since this is what the Church teaches... all this time I’ve been taking advice from men who wouldn’t even date me whether I am living like this now or not... because of my past. ??? I think you should make your channel more clear as being one for Christians with relatively squeaky clean pasts.

Absolutely I see no problem with the kisses and sex in marriage, and The Song of Solomon certainly recommends it! Withholding is for releasing, and if someone's not withheld, and won't, what is there to give?! I feel that long engagements--to be sure--are a temptation and a waste of time, too. it'd be super great if you could not perpetuate the nonsensical idea that women are just SO emotional that if they kissed someone and then ended it one week later that that would just be SO devastating to them while the guy walks away feeling nothing. it's ridiculous to think like that and it's honestly insulting to women to act like we're that weak. it's also toxic to guys because you're continuing to perpetuate this idea that men don't have feelings or shouldn't. men and women are honestly not that different when it comes to emotions and mood swings. the only difference is that people like you continue to push this idea that women are fragile and emotional while men are tough and untouched by emotion. the difference is in our perception, not reality. also, if you're in a relationship with someone, you should feel comfortable with them. you should feel emotionally connected to them. that's not a bad thing. those things don't HAVE to lead to sex if you want to wait till marriage. finally, I don't know you guys and I've honestly only seen a couple of videos of yours. but from what I've seen, it already seems like paul has straight up brainwashed morgan into his stricter beliefs. morgan was more lenient in a lot of ways till paul came along. like okay...I just really hope that isn't the case because that's messed up. it also is crazy to think no one has any self control. if you want to wait till marriage to have sex..you 100% can kiss someone and not have it go further. I can't relate because under no circumstance was I waiting till marriage. but don't act like humans are wild animals with no self control. clearly morgan understood that it can be done..until paul told her otherwise. see what I mean about the brainwashing 🙄

It all depends on the person and I know that I feel convicted whenever I kiss a guy and then we don’t work out. It does hurt the both of us because we thought it was going somewhere and then it didn’t. I know I’m waiting for marriage because The Holy Spirit is guiding my heart to do that. 💗

How do y'all feel about hand holding and just small amounts of physical touch because physical touch is my first love language and it's just how I feel affection, so where is the middle man?

i think its very wise to wait to kiss until marriage. It is definitely a gateway into other things and just makes things more intense so if you are wanting to pursue marriage with that person waiting for those things will not be a big deal at all.

Again, such an amazing video - kissing before marriage can lead to other things that can push us further away from God. Thumbs up to this video!!

I'm bothered by the fact that the lady would sometimes be in a position where the horn on the background would be exactly at her back. And it looks like she has horns 😱😱😱

I never thought about it that way. I haven’t kissed any guy yet and I don’t think it’s going to happen any time soon. Thanks for the advice!
