Yay for 100k subscribers 🎉🥳 love this , I certainly agree with boundaries while dating it’s so important to keep ourselves right and pure. Holding hands and side hugs I think are ok. The rest is to wait till marriage.

I like where you are coming from and the need to stay pure. However, I think that it is also best to go over your love languages in that topic as well. For me, I needed that physical touch and affection to feel loved by my now husband. And not in a sexual way but in more of a "I'm telling you I love you" kind of way. Holding hands, hugging, and maybe some kissing with limits (if they can exercise self control). Otherwise, I would have wondered if he truly loved me. Obviously making sure that lines are not being crossed. But that's just my opinion and what I know that I needed in that time to feel his love towards me.

This is coming from love and in hopes that future videos might be even better. Thank you for allowing The Sovereign to use you. One suggestion, bro, your shirt was a huge distraction simply because of how open and expository it was. Message was strong, but simple things like that can be a stumbling block for a brother or sister in Christ. Maybe just buttoning it up a little more. Someone once told me that....Some people think, “I want to be ‘free’ to do what I want, so I don’t want boundaries. I want freedom.” BUT that’s not freedom at all. God gives us boundaries so we can experience TRUE freedom: free from guilt, shame, etc. Boundaries=living in real freedom. Thanks for sharing Paul and Morgan! Great stuff!!

So true. We can see that with driving. If everyone is following the laws and guidelines for driving, then no one gets hurt. However it is when people go beyond those rules that tragedy happens. Getting tboned by a drunk driver as you cross an intersection, ignoring the speed limit and losing control of the vehicle ending up at the bottom of a cliff, and many other scenarios. The day that we stop having rules and guidelines to protect us is the same day that tragedy will strike powerfully.

A phrase that always sticks with me is: 'It's not the weak man who falls, but the man who thinks he's strong.' You're so right that we''re probably weaker than you think! But if we recognise that we're weak, we can put the boundaries in place, like you're always saying, so that we don't fall! I like that you guys present such a 'strict' model because it normalises the desire for purity and makes us feel stronger in our pursuit. Be blessed!

Just for encouragement... we have been married almost 5 years... when we were dating, we didn’t hold hands, kiss or even intentionally touch each other. IT WAS SO WORTH IT!! Our wedding night and honeymoon were the ultimate high point where we got to do EVERYTHING! I can not recommend it enough.. hard? Yes. Worth it??? A million times YES! Having ZERO regrets was so worth it!

intimacy doesn’t mean sexual either. i feel having some physical aspect is very important to some relationships and some things shouldn’t always be viewed as sexual. with that being said, can things lead to other things, absolutely can however, that’s where self discipline is very important. those temptations should be ignored and fought if that’s what you believe. sacrificing a non sexual intimacy aspect of a relationship like cuddling, hugging, and even kissing can hurt relationships in my opinion. everybody does their own thing but i don’t think saying these things are bad pre marital is bad is the right thing.

If someone is giving me good advice i should be humble as a christian and analyze the judgement/advice through the Bible and if they are right suck it up and accept it.

Body hair doesn’t have to be awkward. It’s a totally natural thing and neither partner should feel under any pressure to change their body hair habits just to please someone else. If you want to shave your legs/anywhere else, that’s totally up to you. If your partner can’t or won’t accept your body hair (or lack of), or they are hypocritical about it, they’re not worth your time. End of.

Having each person write what their expectations of physical boundaries is a great piece of advice. With my last boyfriend I let him know what my expectations where and he nodded. Come to find out later he totally didn't care about purity to the degree I did. I wish I had taken purity way more seriously. I was all about staying pure till marriage, but I indulged in a ton of sexual activity besides full on intercourse, and it did damage me and the relationship. It made the relationship feel less real. I learned if I can't keep my hands off of someone, it's not a real, honoring, friendship with longevity- it's a lustful affair. He was a cool person but ultimately I got sick of my trying to please God, myself, and him all at the same time.... I am super interested in what I would have previously considered "strict religious boundaries". I'm happy to hear Morgan loved dating Paul and felt loved by him because he was challenged to express genuine love to her in other ways. Physical stuff is easy; intimacy takes a lot of maturity and intentionality.

So what if your love language is affection? While completely respecting the boundaries put in place, you never find out if the other person's naturally affectionate. Then you get married and find out that they hate touching and hate physical affection, hugging or cuddling? Now you're stuck. Just a thought, I am sure you'd talk about it and hope they're honest.

I've thought of this too. Touch is my love language. I'm thinking though that if you are really putting God first in your life and you ask Him if this is "the one" you will get an answer. I think we need to have faith and pray 🙏 I hope this helps you.

Precisely. In my relationship (9 months in) quality time is primary for both of us. Physical affection is secondary for me, third for him. Words of affirmation is secondary for him. So we discussed boundaries from the beginning. Hands stay in appropriate areas. We hold hands, hug, and kiss. I'm fine with light pda when out on a date or just hanging out, but no more than a side hug or hand on the back with family and friends. I think I am more private than him in this way and I clam up with embarrasment/shyness😅. Like the one time he gave me a kiss on my forehead at church I was like😳🙈. If it ever gets carried away, one or both of us needs to initiate a pause and we'll re-evaluate those boundaries as needed. I'm not thinking about sex when I'm affectionate. It's more about romance and how safe I feel with him. I am the same way with family, especially my older sisters and my neices and nephews...long hugs, kisses, and sometimes cuddles. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy lol. Everyone's mind is different and have different levels of self control. Therefore, boundaries will look different in every relationship.

I started watching your videos a few years ago after I ended a pretty ungodly relationship. We didnt have any conversations about boundaries and very quickly things escalated. When I started watching your purity videos God really changed my heart and I am happy to say that I am totally on board with all of your strict boundaries and am now starting to see someone new and I laid out my strict boundaries right away and have really felt Gods peace and blessing in it. Thank you both, your message and ministry changed my life, may God bless you both and thank you for giving us all the encouragement to have hope and be free.

Matthew 5:27-30 Personally, whatever it is that causes us to stumble in a relationship, especially if it affects our relationship with God negatively, we need to remove it. To some it may be holding hands, To some it's hugging, to some is being too close, to some it's looking into each other's eyes for too long, to some it's kissing. We all need to be sincerely honest about what the Holy Spirit says to us with regards to how we conduct ourselves in a relationship, Both in thought and in action. That's my starting point.

Paul and Morgan, you guys are awesome! My girlfriend and I very close to being engaged, and we have not yet kissed on the lips. We have talked about it and decided to at least wait until engagement, but as that day grows closer we felt convicted about waiting longer. However we were not 100% decided. Today I was driving home from work and just praying to God asking for wisdom and guidance whether it be through a mentor, Scripture, or one of the many Christian influencers that I follow. Sure enough I saw your video, and my convictions to wait longer were renewed. God directly answered my prayer through the two of you!!! I know this is a long comment, but I want you to know that God is using you!

Thank you so much. My boyfriend has set a boundary with me that he wanted our first kiss on our wedding. I've been praying for a guy who'd do that to me. Struggle is their but I know that the wait is worth it. That Christ is glorified in the wait. And our relationship is strengthened as we go through this path of purity.

My first and the last relationship I had was very difficult revolving boundaries. We set them very early on but they definitely did not last. My advice to everyone who is wanting to date or is currently dating, coming from someone who has fallen, please do NOT compromise. In my situation We justified overstepping boundaries by saying that other people are going way farther etc and a little 3 second kiss won’t be that bad but it really does accelerate things. I use to think my will power was greater than any temptation but don’t fall for that same thought. You will become a victim of sexual sin. It’s similar to doing a drug. Once you have had it, you want more of it and once that’s not good enough you up it to something stronger (all the way sex).

One other down fall I want to mention, just because you don’t go “all the way” does not mean you aren’t sinning. If you feel the least bit of conviction or guilt you have committed sexual sin. If I could redo it over or whenever I date somebody again I’m setting strict boundaries and avoiding being alone in secluded areas.

What I have increasingly come across is what I call "Sunday Christians" where they go to church, call themselves Christian but continue to engage in sins such as sexual relations outside of marriage.

My husband and I have been married 12 years and we are SO glad we waited because our relationship was not clouded with shame, AND we now have 3 daughters that we can share our testimony and wisdom to. In y’alls opinion, do you think that there should be a ‘spiritual boundary’? What I mean by that is; do you think it would be wise to have a boundary that would keep a dating couple from doing devotions together? Like, at first you’d think, of course you can do devotions together, but at the same time, while doing devotions together, you create a spiritual connection that makes it very difficult to let go of and separate if that relationship doesn’t pan out.

And even though our relationship has remained pure....This video actually convicted me to tighten up our boundaries! I think it depends on the couple. My parents held hands, hugged, and kissed when they were dating and it didn’t go further. So if you struggle with self control or think you couldn’t trust yourself to stop then this is good to follow, but if you and your significant other are strong people and have a good sense of self control then I think than it’s OK. And I know literally dozens of Christian couples who did these held hands, hugged, kissed while staying pure, and are still happily married today. I think it’s just a matter of personal preference and knowing what you can or can’t handle.

First off, I have been so encouraged by your videos. I never realized people with such Godly morals still existed! I won't go into my whole testimony, but I did not do things properly... and there were many great consequences. Biggest consequence was my ex-husband divorcing me (leaving me with a daughter and no job at the time (was a stay-at-home-mom)). I'm grateful for what God has freed me from and the grace He has given to me and my daughter, but there are consequences I face daily because I didn't hold steadfast in my faith and convictions when I was dating. God has given me hope through His Word for the future, but if God brings someone else into my life (I've really studied out His Word about divorce, and I have found that I am free from my ex and am allowed to marry again.) I will continue to hold onto my convictions and faith! Secondly, Morgan, your make-up is on point! You look gorgeous! ❤

My friend just entered a relationship and she said that God told her something that totally blew my mind. He told her that she could cross certain boundaries of the “promised land” with her boyfriend (obviously not sex) with God not being on the mix, or like Moses, she could say “I’m not going past this point without you Lord” and move at the pace of grace. Only going as far as God is present, entering the promise land together. Just something to think about.

I definitely agree with this concept. I had a boundary with the guys that I dated when I was 18/19 (3 years ago now) that they couldn’t kiss me until they knew they wanted to marry me and it was always on the first or second date. I didn’t have my boundaries put fully in place and I allowed them to push my limits. I have repented of my sin, cut off the limbs that caused me to sin and am totally fine being single. I fully intend on being more strict in the future and I like the idea of going with the stronger boundary than the weaker.

Love, love, love this!!!! THANK YALL for being BOLD!! I have been married for 7 years and my husband and I had clear physical boundaries that we stuck to and I do not regret it one bit. Ours were very similar to what y'alls were and I would agree with you if I could do it over again my husband and I both agree that we would wait until our wedding day to kiss. If you think about it there's really no negatives to that other than it makes the boundaries very clear and simple and I think it takes a lot of pressure off of you and you can just relax and enjoy getting to know each other on a not physical level just emotionally and spiritually and all of those areas.

Enjoyed the video as always. I don't have any regrets from the hugs and hand-holding from my last relationship, but when I begin dating again, I do plan on having stronger boundaries, or at least to introduce things much later in the relationship. I smiled and smashed that like button when you guys kissed. :) I had an idea last night after watching some of your older videos: you guys should make a video compilation of all of your bloopers and funny moments from your videos so far! This was awesome . I’m engaged right now and to see someone else had boundaries like me and my fiancé really encouraged me. We’ve committed to waiting for our first kiss and being physical for our wedding day next April of 2020. We’ve been in a relationship for 3 years so our wedding day will be a blast lol. You know..I appreciate these videos..they might sound extreme, and it might be very difficult to stick to boundaries (but worth it)..those kinds of regrets and heartaches just aren't anything to play with when there aren't boundaries put in place. And if or when I ever meet someone, boundaries are most definitely getting put into play. im not saying what worked for y’all won’t work for anyone, however creating such harsh boundaries can actually be harmful to a relationship, and the heart. it can change it from spiritual & God centered to legalism. again, it worked for y’all so good on y’all, and it could work for others. i believe boundaries are SO important, but it can do some harm too if not in the correct context or heart.

Love you guys! The way I was raised was no hugging of any kind until engaged and only then side hugs, no kissing until marriage, no hand holding until engaged, and no sitting next to each other in church until engaged. The less physical contact the less room the Devil has to slide in and tempt you. Of course it is going to be hard but in the end it is all worth it!! One other thing I would like to add is, pray often together. Keep God at the center of everything. Even the small decisions. He cares!

I totally agree with you guys on this. Things can escalate fast physically. And it's really hard to put a stop to it when you're in the moment. My fiancé and I are getting married this fall. And yes it's hard sometimes to wait but I know it's totally going to be worth it. While some might see you as too conservative, God is serious about holiness. Either it's a sin or its not. Just want to add to the conversation a bit! I think these below are some good rules to follow when it comes to hugs specifically during Christian dating: #1 Use the "Cringy Christian side hug" for those you are not dating (aka friends & acquaintances) #2 For the one that you are dating: use the 3 second front hug tactic (count aloud together- it might seem weird at first but as you get closer you will cherish longer hugs when you are married) Keep kisses short btw too ;)

As a Christian, I feel that if it doesn’t convict you then it is within your boundaries. I believe you guys feel the same way! The only thing I’d ask that you add to videos like this is that it’s okay to be tempted. Temptation is not a sin. Avoiding the temptation is where it’s at. It’s about taking those thoughts and feelings captive and pushing them away. As I’m sure you know, even Jesus was tempted, but he didn’t sin cause, well, He’s Jesus (among other more we’ll put and thought out reasons). I love you guys, I love your ministry, and I’d love to see more of y’all! Maybe a video about maintaining a relationship through all of the things that we humans go through? Y’all might already have one of those. I’m just getting into your channel. Thanks for providing such a great ministry to this forum. Y’all rock!

I appreciate your videos, Paul & Morgan! Almost 5 years ago, for about 8 years, I was part of a strict Baptist Church and Bible college. Sadly, it took me that long to find out how much spiritual abuse was in that place. While the standards you shared were very similar in the "letter of the law" to what I was taught there, the heart is completely different. God does care about the little things, but most importantly He cares about our heart (not about the rules themselves, if that makes sense). I am so thankful for how He has been teaching me about listening to the Holy Spirit, not just living by man made rules. Your videos are helping me relearn how to step into dating with intentionality and purity, while also walking in freedom and having fun along the way. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series. Honestly i loved this 💖 For a woman like me strict boundaries are absolutely necessary. I struggled with sexual sin from early on. I was tied to pornography after being abused at age 11. At 18-19 making out with guys and eventually losing my virginity to a ex boyfriend. And i even got tied in same sex sexual sin. God has changed my heart. Still a work in progress but i feel like you never know the sin someone struggled with or the temptation for it to so easily come up. Physical contact can truly be harmful if not done God way. I respect this video so much for the honestly and the content 💖

So my husband I where pretty much hands off. We didn't kiss tell our wedding day. People think we are aliens I think when they hear that.😉 But it was what we felt was right at the time for us. Its not easy, my husbands top love language is physical touch. But something I noticed, that I would really encourage people with, is when you are waiting to get physically intimate, it forces you to learn to communicate your feelings verbally, And there is no way to explain the value in that. And you just plain get to know the inside of the person better before your feelings and hormones cloud things. Also, my thought at the time was, lets wait tell we get married and then we don't have to worry, ONLY THIS FAR AND NO FARTHER. We would be free then to go as far and have as much fun as we wanted without guilt.

I personally think it's very important to know if me and my partner are sexually compatible before marriage because that's very important to me. But it's always good to have boundaries ofcours.
