Federer can do whatever he wants, he is basically a treasure and it's up to him what he chooses. When talking about players like Nick Kyrgios, specific type of motivation, it would be great for such players to play when they are motivated instead of situation where they don't want to play and they are pushed to do it.

That's the price of "democracy." You can't give roger special treatment just cos he's the GOAT. All players can either choose or none can. Start making exceptions based on fame and corruption sweeps in to ruin it all

Federer already fulfilled his obligation to ATP, at the stage of their career, Fed, Nadal and Djokovic are allowed to schedule however they damn please, because the rule said so. They ticked the age requirement, number of matches played, etc. Kyrgios is just being disrespectful to ATP and his colleagues.

Skipping a grand slam on whatever surface means knowingly and willingly forgoing a potential 2000 pts (not to mention all additional points from minor tournaments on the same surface). It seems to me that the only ppl *truly* interested in this topic would be tournament marketing teams, and only when folks in the top 5 decide to do it. Of course these players should be able to pick their schedules how they see fit.
@vSnippi
@vSnippi 5 жыл бұрын
yeah players should have the right to choose what tournaments they play. if your technique needs fixing because it may be causing issues or if you are lacking mental focus then you do need time to fix them otherwise you will see the worst outcome on court.

Boris Becker is class. Would definatly have him as my coach. In comparrison with Mcenroe who does say some good things he does rabbit on for too long but Becker has 100% quality whatever he says. I sat next to Becker at the Aus Open on court 14 whilst watching Kohlschrieber. He looked so undercover with sun glasses and shorts, blended in perfectly only Kohlis coaches acknowledge him. It is such a grand slam the aussie open, its nice if the players should go to all slams.

If you're injured or are approaching an age where you have to manage your body more then I get it. But you can't skip a tournament because you think it sucks (aka you don't want to lose to a player you don't like)
@footballinvestorsclub
@footballinvestorsclub 5 жыл бұрын
I think from the fans perspective, watching a grand slam, you know you will get to see many world class players regardless. But when you buy a ticket for a small tournament near where you live, on the basis that one or two big names is meant to be there and then they decide to pull out at the last minute, you don't get a refund. You basically feel a bit ripped off and this happens more often than seems fair.

If they allowed them to do it, tour will suffer in the future, everyone will try to succeed only on the surface which suits them the best. clay season last for 2,5 months out of calendar so of course the players would rather skip it to take a break or get ready for grass, so the european fans won’t have chance to see them play. Did ever Sampres skip it? and what were his chances to win FO compare to Wimbledon?
@saikat93ify
@saikat93ify 5 жыл бұрын
Most players don’t have a chance of winning even a Masters 1000 let alone a grand slam. Does that mean they should skip it ? I don’t think the officials can force players to play a tournament but I don’t find the reason of not being competitive enough to win it a reason to drop out. Note - I’m talking about Kyrgios not Federer.

Yeah...it is individual's choice... where he or she wants to play or not ! There is nothing to criticise someone who has given a lot about sports...(not likely any random player) ! But yes,no one can deny the fact that your choice is not above the sports ! So each time you want to skip a perticular tournament also shows your one sided harmless and safe decision made for only you ! No one will criticise ROGER as he is a GOAT but everyone has to praise (praise is not the appropriate fitted word) RAFA for his unbreakable spirit, not to skip any perticular tournament if he is free from injuries ! The players who skip without injury and the other consistent player who is playing with all of his guts and physicality and mental strength and heart just for sports just because he does not think about himself selflessly, surely is different from the former mentioned type of player.... If you can not criticise the former one then what is the right word to address the later one ? I think we have to worship him who risks his everything just not to skip ! For him skipping was never an option !

There r rules to put things in order and to avoid cheatings and dirty practices. And there r rooms to tolerate when things get under emergency or sickness. Yet, t reality of 'golden goose' is a factor that can not be skipped in tapping a maximum income for the benefits of all stakeholders. All these must be run in some kind of systems that can be comprehended n acceptable by all stake holders. Management is partly science and partly art. A good mix of them is produced by negotiations in considerations of human logic n limits.

Great job you legends why don't you do this more often.. This would get a huge loop whole in tennis filled up..Tennis needs constant pundits like soccer in order to grow this can even give a chance to get so many perspectives from old era legends and even new era legends about the game. Nobody should skip tournaments randomly especially without any sensible reason unless injured or an extreme reason.. Kyrigos is a little spoiled brat who has no gratitude towards tennis and people, he is shameless and disrespectful and he will never go far apart from winning afew low grade tournaments and a fat paycheck, that's about it for him.. He is not worthy of mentioning.. As for people like Kevin Anderson and John isner those are server bots and the don't nessecarily see the need to play on clay and fatigue themselves while they can wait for the grass season. Roger is the only player who without a doubt allowed to miss tournaments because he has a strategy with reason and is always professional.
