She also might be wanting to hedge against divorce, meaning if she buys it before marriage, it's just in her name and she wouldn't have to split it. But I don't know the laws in London so it might be different than in the US.

Expecting to maintain expensive properties in both L.A. and London, while managing an acting career and a new marriage is just a bad idea. She's better off renting a modest flat in London, and seeing how the career and marriage go over the next year.
